I don't remember too many elections where both sides have gone full tilt with the promises. Of course neither of them will be able to fulfil even half of the promises. Winners will be grinners and the losers will soon point out that most of the promises that were made were bs.

Then you got Clive Palmers mob, who says both major parties are telling fibs, then goes on with a whole lot of crappola themselves....like setting interest rates at 3% as if its the governments job to set interest rates. However the may gain some support as im predicting another move away from the big 2 towards minnows. May be just a co-incidence but many of the people i speak to out and about are talking about voting for The Greens
Yay! Anyone who reads the Greens' election manifesto (any working class person that is) must see that their policies are all about us ordinary folk and that the party has no big business connections.

But the big election news is the recent .intervention of The Almighty. All of you Christians and other sky daddy believers have surely not missed God's sign. A week before election day, he has sent an Earth tremor through the site of Dutton's planned nuclear plant outside Newcastle. The big guy's not happy with Dutts and we ignore that at our peril. I haven't seen any coverage to speak of in our msm btw.

...That first para is comedy gold. If you aren't on the professional stand-up circuit already, you should be.

      • Dutton's most recent backflip. Gawd he's such a clutz!

        ---

A reporter brings Peter Dutton back to his previous remarks on the tax break for electric vehicles.

The Coalition confirmed it would scrap the scheme for new vehicle buyers even though the opposition leader said no when asked if he'd repeal the tax break when asked just days ago.

Earlier in this press conference, Dutton insisted there would be "no policy change".

After a bit of a back and forth, the opposition leader responds:
"I think we're better off just to accept we have a difference of opinion but there has been no change in policy," he says.

I wouldn’t be surprised if my two kids vote Green. I know they have in the past. We discuss politics from time to time and elections when they come around (Federal and ACT). They’re still very young and from talking to them over the past 3-4 years since they can vote, it seems like the younger generation are much more likely to vote Green than the older generations. They haven’t been influenced by me either as I’ve never put the Greens first ever.

Lol, I think the days of putting them on the naughty chair are long gone. It’s also a good thing they can think things through themselves and find their own way.

Well I think you know what I mean. They may come to the conclusion after thinking things through that voting Green is not a good idea. Or not. It’s part of growing up and becoming independent.

Yeah the Trumpet Of Patriots. What a ridiculous name for a political party. I’m sick of seeing Katy Gallagher on the TV here. Yeah she’s a local, so I get it. But I hate the advertising blitz before an selection but of course I know why it has to happen. It just goes on n for so long with the same repetitive ads.

Yeah my boys are voting Greens- not my doing. Definitely not the outlaws either-who are full on Liberals for generations- they are even horrified that the missus has voted Teals and Independent in recent elections.

                        • I’ve enjoyed replies from the member for Kooyong when pressed about her Green leaning despite apparently being Teal. Justifying her parliamentary voting as merely listening to her constituents and reflecting their views rather than following a party line.

Ha ha! That's about it. The lower intellect Boomer cohort. Too stupid to rein in the junk food and booze intake but I'm surprised that you are a Green sceptic Count. The colour Teal does include a large dollop of Green so Zoe's not hiding anything.

MR's timidity re voting Green is widely shared (see Randy for example, an intelligent person but a closed mind re Russia/Ukraine and now the Greens.) Instead of being critical of our RW media, many are conditioned to the ludicrous fantasy that it's a voice from above.

Murdoch declared war on the Green party years ago effectively meaning that one cannot believe ANYTHING that News says or reports on their policies, philosophy or anything else Green. 60% of the population rate the media as being unreliable in surveys but 40% don't agree, they think that the media is almost an extension of us.

                              • Here are the scary Greens' policies for consideration. What is not to like considering your situation? Voting Green is not scary, revolutionary or stupid. We live in a world dominated by vested interests. Both the ALP and the Libs need money but the Libs actually represent money.
