Let's be real. Both are heavily trained and scripted in their approaches to public speaking. They know the party's line on all the bog standard questions and but for a massive screw-up they're gonna keep repeating the same BS over and over.
From the shorts I heard Dutton had this pre-planned 'are you better off than you were when the day that Albo was elected' line that some PR dude scripted for him. Old mate's got Pete's number from when he was running around like a muppet calling reconciliation a 'voice of division'. Happy for him to give me a call if he wants to hear how I did a Boston Marathon qualifier last Sunday (finished first place for my age in the Canberra Marathon) and settled on an investment property today. Got a cheeky promotion at work too (many years overdue) so there's gonna be a dollar or two extra in the bank next fortnight. To boot, Easts beat the Drongos... feels particularly good to have notched one up against Dutton. So yeah, life's pretty good mate!!!
Obviously Trump's a see you next Tuesday and my life would be better off if he's just STFU and retire to his stupid fake Mexican villa in Florida. But no, other than that things are going pretty sweet.
What else am I gonna get outta the debate? Not calling myself the most informed person out there but I know where both major parties stand on just about everything because I read the news daily.
To me the public debate's been had, my mind's made up and I'll be putting in an early vote next week. Faaarkin done! Goodbye Dutton. Hope you lose your seat as you don't deserve to earn $$$ while you sit on the backbench, waiting for some conservative think-tank to offer you a consultancy gig.
