She knows a few people involved in league I am certain I refereed her a few years ago playing touch footy with some of the girls who know people or are involved in Rugby Laegue themselves just before she went over to UK to sign her Arsenal contract She stood out on appearnce and then movement when the game got going I actually asked her what sport she played after the second time she touched the ball in that game Yiu could see the way she moved she was an elite athlete

and yes, she did have a blinder. the u.s. mightn't have played so well in the group stage but they played well v sweden and would have been a threat if they progressed. seemed a great night. we seem to be holding a good world cup - it was good to see the swedish girls dancing and singing happily with an abba song playing through the ground's speakers. nice touch

By the looks of it England/Nigeria/USA/Sweden didn't do a lot of spot kick (Penalty) practice pre-game.

Thanks Zac, yes I'm not a Soccer (football) follower closely but love a big gig, especially as the host, and especially the girls.

This is a big PR opportunity for the marketing people with the Matildas to garner a whole new audience of supporters for the sport in Australia moving ahead. And of course the more they win the bigger the fanbase will grow.

For the record, my Sam Kerr comment was a throwaway line to praise the girls who have been playing the big minutes and winning, not to be consumed literally.

Nah typing in a hurry and a man of your literary talents has no troubles reading it
I haven’t had a drink for a month Jaxx My last beer was Friday July 7th You should try it Jaxx

You would be shocked at the amount of elite sportspeople I’ve either played touch footy with or against and refereed I recall just how excited you were running straight on here telling us all when you had a social run with RTS and his Dad at Heffron Park many years back

Now back to football I’m not liking the way this Jamaican side play the game

I have always watched Football going back to the days of the Big Match on the ABC - Showed all the goals from the matches and extended highlights of the main match - first division back in those days.

Great to see the legendary Brian Clough Manager of Nottingham Forest during those halcyon days at the start of the video

But I’m not bashing Jaxxx for his opinion it is though one the majority of the football world would not agree with though. Perhaps Jaxxx the casual observer can see something most others cannot. He is bucking the trend going against the normal line of thought and good for him for sharing his non conventional line of thought.

Just interrupting this serious football thread to ask a very serious question. Why does Jack’s ‘name’ change from Jax to Jaxx to Jaxxx? I even saw a Jaxxxxx the other day.

Oh Jaxxx Here I was thinking you were challenging conventional wisdom What a disappointment

Half time 0-0. Jamaica still to concede a goal

I think Zacs initial hostility towards me today may have been a result of my comment to Paddos post today regarding The Voice It’s a shame people do not appear to respect others views Anyway this is The Wonens World Cup thread and we have a thrilling second half coming up between Columbia and Jamaica with the score currently locked at 0-0. It is all to play for and that really excites me
