and yes, she did have a blinder. the u.s. mightn't have played so well in the group stage but they played well v sweden and would have been a threat if they progressed. seemed a great night. we seem to be holding a good world cup - it was good to see the swedish girls dancing and singing happily with an abba song playing through the ground's speakers. nice touch

By the looks of it England/Nigeria/USA/Sweden didn't do a lot of spot kick (Penalty) practice pre-game.

This is a big PR opportunity for the marketing people with the Matildas to garner a whole new audience of supporters for the sport in Australia moving ahead. And of course the more they win the bigger the fanbase will grow.
For the record, my Sam Kerr comment was a throwaway line to praise the girls who have been playing the big minutes and winning, not to be consumed literally.

I haven’t had a drink for a month Jaxx My last beer was Friday July 7th You should try it Jaxx
You would be shocked at the amount of elite sportspeople I’ve either played touch footy with or against and refereed I recall just how excited you were running straight on here telling us all when you had a social run with RTS and his Dad at Heffron Park many years back
Now back to football I’m not liking the way this Jamaican side play the gameI respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

I have always watched Football going back to the days of the Big Match on the ABC - Showed all the goals from the matches and extended highlights of the main match - first division back in those days.
Great to see the legendary Brian Clough Manager of Nottingham Forest during those halcyon days at the start of the video
