    haha
yep that 1 crucial call lost us the game
Couldn’t agree more. Can’t stand when some people
always use a referees appointment as an excuse for us to lose an upcoming game.

It will easily expose now the referee's who have it in for individual teams (aka Ben Cummins with us) which I reckon some of them are worried about. Also the thing I am concerned with it going back to one referee is that is was clear that both officials at one time had different interpretations and some were just whistle happy & rely too much on the Bunker (aka Klien & Penenara).

So, does that mean now that they will be too black & white without the second official there to look around the ruck?

Yeah it's a negitive outlook before kickoff. I'm glad Robbo has more faith in his troops knowing a disciplined performance will take the ref out of the game no matter who has the whistle...

Listening to Vlandys the Bengal Lancers will also be your former referees so it will surprise me if we don't see a more 'active' role from the touchies. 3 wise men/people steering the ship.

"NRL will re-start with or without top referees, says V'landys"

            Should be fun.

The more I think about it, these changes (1 ref, the 6 again rule) are more about V'landys putting his stamp on the game and saying he is in control than doing something fro the betterment of the game
The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

                  +1.

I will elaborate on my 2005 comment. That surrender tackle rule change turned the game into touch football. It was too big a change in quick time. I won't use Roosters as the example because we were never going to do much in 2005 without Freddy. Bulldogs Premiers 2004, 12th 2005, and 2nd in 2006 after the rule change had to be reversed. Tigers and Cowboys failed to make the top 8 in 2006.

Now we have V'landys wanting to make multiple major rule changes in quick time:
                  1) One referee
                  2) Six-again instead of penalties
                  3) Reduce interchange
                  4) Get rid of the wrestle

Too much too soon. Teams needs time to adapt. V'landys a clueless dictator and should p1ss off back to the horses.

When there was originally 1 ref the complaint was that the ref misses things so they introduced technology & there was still complaints so they introduced 2 refs but there was still complaints so they introduced the multi million dollar bunker with 2 refs but you guessed it still complaints so now they go back to 1 ref & guess what?

Whilst some of his innovations have been good for NSW racing he is offside with the VRC as some of his big race promotions have ruined some of the time honoured classics down there.
Sometimes you need a dictator to get changes done and time will tell whether these new rules will be good for the game.

Along with the 6 again rule,

It could help more than hinder us.....

A whole new ball game with exhausted players everywhere.....

Bookies with have us close to $12 outsiders for 3 peat this week, besides with hyperinflation soon could be a better bet than bit coin....

that doesn't sound right. not a betting man but i'd take some of that (so long as you get your money back if the comp's called off).

I think they are right....we aren't "meant" to win this year. I'm still glad to get the show back on the road though, we will have our moments.

TAB has us $6 third favourites behind Canberra and Melbourne. Other corporates might be more generous.

They’re getting rid of the bunker and video ref?

I’d hazard to guess that were just as many mistakes with the video ref as there were without.

VPL probably has the actual data on this and is purifying the game while satisfying media requirements (more action/drama) and slashing costs all at the same time. Genius
                                ..it’ll be interesting to see
