i dont care about mistakes all ways will be made im glad for the one ref better for the flow of the game one ref makes the decision without the other muppet second gussing broadcasters need to stop over scrutinising the refs decision with ridiculous replays should be a directive from the nrl

1 thing that would help refs , if networks stopped showing 22 slow motion replays of any given incident. replay it once at normal speed move on. commentators should also move on compare channel 9s coverage of 6 again with fox commentary. fox moved on , channel made a mountain from a molehill.

Despite ref mistakes the best team always seems to win the comp, the second best team will come second and the worst team will come last. I don’t care too much about the refs.

1 ref is a way for the NRL to save money.
How much are these refs on?
They just wasted a shit load on Tina Tuner then scrapped the add. They should move the Tamworth Warriors into the Ibis.....

                Vice versa?
The more people who "sign the cheques" the better?

The reasons the NRL went to two refs was because there were so many mistakes made by one ref. The two refs system didn’t fail. What happened was that it took some errors from one system after many whinging and introduced a new set of errors. Now we’re going back to the old system and old errors. I bet that by the next 3 rounds there will be coaches, media and fans screaming about how many errors the officials make.

It may work in Super League but you can not compare the pace of that game to the NRL!

Surely this is not a cost saving exercise.

that's what i heard. means they can use the 2nd ref to run the lines.

For sure it is. They are trimming the fat.

Many others have lost their jobs due to the corona virus restrictions and lock down. What makes referees so special.

They was talk of going with 1 touch judge with 2 flags. Plus paper scissors rock instead of a coin toss and half time will not be a paid break anymore..

You think the refs were under the pump when their were 2, well you aint seen nothing yet.
The game is such a juggernaut with so much media attention & social media attention that 1 ref will now have alot of attention being placed on him/her.
There is no way 1 ref can police the ruck & the 10 metres at the same time.

I heard an interview with Des Hasler saying the same thing as you mentioned. I'm really not sure. Is it a cost saving exercise or is having two referees genuinely worse than one?
