I'd rather origin didn't exist anymore.
It served its purpose, but strikes me as irrelevant since bronco pty ltd entered the comp.

Having said that, if we accept it as a necessary evil, we should be supportive of players who gain this status while they're playing for us.
It seems a big leap to jump to the conclusion that Cords would put anything in league above playing for us.
He wants to captain a Roosters team to a grand final win.
That is the pinnacle in our sport.

Mind you, I haven't asked him because I haven't met him.

Should not have played but that's history now - Chronic knee problem is an issue going forward though - will need to modify his training - I remember Peter Sterling talking about Kevin "Stumpy" Stevens how his knees were shot - retired at the end of 1980 - Big Jack Gibson took over coaching Parramatta for the 1981 season from Johnny Peard - tried to sign Tim Sheens who was contracted with Penrith- wasn't able to get a release etc - so Big Jack contacted Kevin Stevens to Play instead.

Sterling was saying he trained mostly on his own due to his knees and Big Jack would tell him if you can run by Thursday/Friday you can play - Sterling said Kevin "Stumpy" Stevens was the toughest player he had played with as with those knees he should not have been playing at all - Kevin was 5ft 5 or 6- Barry "Bunny" Reilly for instance was 5ft 3- I seem to recall Peter Peters saying if Parramatta won the comp with O'Reilly and Stevens in their forward pack he would walk from Wollongong to Palm Beach in thongs- supposedly 25,000 pairs of things were sent to him to complete the walk after they won the GF against Newtown 20-11 in 1981.

So over the last two years we have:

Game I 2016: foot injury, out for about 6 weeks
Game II 2017: calf injury, out for 2 weeks and came back underdone
Game III 2017: knee injury, perhaps due to being underdone, and out for a month or more.

Boyd Cordner should finish his career as a 300 gamer for the Roosters. But because of State of Origin he'll struggle to crawl his way to 250 games.
Do you have a little injury notebook Tommy. Taken to all games and sits in the inside coat pocket ready to be unleashed .

Impressive my friend. Unofficial Chookpen stats man

So all up he played 16 origin game in his time with us and was available for the Roosters following game 13 of those times.
Yes, but he was often on one leg.

Was there ever a time when both Jason Lowrie and Terry Hermansson were on the field at the same time for more than two weeks in a row? Didn't they have David "Blind As A Bat" Barnhill as a prop for a time.

Freddie on one leg was better than 90% of all other playmakers in the league back then

The real John Roland Boyd Tobin short changed me at his Newsagency - got my Scanlon card signed and purchased a Big League and a Rugby League Week from him and he ripped me off on the change-gave me 5 cent coins as change - 50 cents short changed and a lot back then for a kid .His introduction to crime I suppose and not the last-see article below- He will be spending more time again behind bars too for cocaine- largest bust they say.
