12 wins in a row for...........nothing.

I dunno why we act as if 3 minior premierships in a row is nothing. Sure a premiership is better, but I think we can be proud of the current era.

I actually thought Pearce's absence from the second half made it bleedingly obvious why he is so important to the team. In the first half we were down 16-0 and his composure in directing the team got us back in the game. He knew early ball to Fergo was what would get us back into it and he delivered that. His kicking was quite good in that first half too.

There was just moments that absolutely killed us in that game. Obviously SKD's howler gave them momentum. Their second try was pretty unlucky. He's one millimetre from being out there. We worked our way back into the game well and were well on top when Friend threw that bad pass to SST and that killed us. A couple of sets later a blatant milking from Hodges gave them field position in the last minute for that try. And then having what I honestly thought was a fair try to SKD disallowed hurt us enormously. The Milford try after the Evans knock on was very smart and caught RTS off guard. And after that point we seemed to think we had to score off every set. It's like they all had Gould in their ear saying how on tilt we were. Jimmy probably needed to step up and steady the ship there in the second half because it was still there to win. We played frantic and panicked basically the entire second half. I think that probably had a little to do with no Pearce. Fergo certainly didn't see any more ball and he was our main weapon.

Extremely disappointed because we had the team to win it if we played to 90% of our potential against any team on their day. I think we'll still be very strong next year. Sure a premiership would be bloody great but I'm still very thankful to be following such a strong footy team and an upstanding club. And anyone who doesn't enjoy 12 wins in a row has lost me. Go the chooks!!!

Yeah the 2nd try was unlucky 1mm from being out but easily avoided just like that one against Penrith in the finals last year Giving them one you can recover but two and away from home up there was the killer blow

Why? Without looking it up who won the MP in say 2008 or 1996 or 2005? I can reel off the premiers from each of those years but screwed if I can recall the MP's without google.

I think some thought Pearce played for 80 minutes.

The try in the first minute, the try in the last minute of the second half and the disallowed try in the first minute of the second half were the massive momentum shifts that cost us. They scored four tries coming off our errors. We played catch-up football from the second minute and couldn't hack it.

We scored no points in the second half with SoH and Maloney and never looked like scoring apart from a bomb.
