When you're down by 16-18 points there's a very low probability you're going to win. As such you need to try some low percentage plays. Sometimes they come off. More often they don't. And tonight they didn't. Can't help but wonder what the game would have looked like if that try in the 41st minute was given. For what it's worth they probably got it right.

Winning the minor premiership, watching so many wins, great football throughout the year all awesome. Wouldn't swap that for anything. For me way more enjoyment watching all those wins than one dud loss like tonight as devastating as it is. The loss a culmination of losing to the Storm, Cummins influence, then destined to no rest coming into tonights game , so the Broncos were fresh, no benefit of the doubt on two try occasions...and then we were out of gas, deflated and not able to beat the freshness enthusiasm and the occasion.

        3. The SKD error was enormous. It gave them unstoppable momentum.
        4. Extending on the above, smart coaches wait for us to beat ourselves. We're so error prone it's scary. We just played into Brosbane's hands from the first mistake.
        5. Our window is closed. We need an internal inquest into why we've been abject failures in the finals the past two years.
        6. I will continue to have faith in Robbo. Anybody that criticises him is a ****wit.
I honestly don't think our window is closed. Look at the teams next year. Storm will go down the ladder, so will Souths. Cowboys will probably slip a little put maybe stay around the same. Dogs will slip. Sharks will move up but won't be that great. Broncos will be minor premiers. Warriors should be top 4.

So realistically, the comp is going to be more evenly spread next year and if you look at our squad we still have a top 4 squad. Napa, Evans, SST, Fergo, Hastings and Cordner will all get better. Theyre all still young. I think come mid next season we will no longer be missing Maloney. That just leaves us with 1 position to worry about which is FB. That will be the position that stops us winning the premiership and it will depend on how much the person in that role can step up that will decide whether we can win or not. If not next year, then by 2017, with another year of experience for the FB and our young squad hitting their peaks, the window will be wide open once again.

This isn't an old side and the exciting this is that although we are losing a 5/8 ad FB, they are being replaced by 2 hopefully decade-long star clubmen. And once again, if you look at the squads on paper next year, the best sides of the past 2-3 years are all likely to slip. And if the Broncos win this year it will be hard for them to go B2B. Also, I think we will finally not be the team that everybody sees as the benchmark which will help significantly come finals time.

Who on our team would you consider a leader of men? JWH? Friend? Maloney? I would not put Pearce in that category. Friend does not fill me in confidence. Maloney is gone.

Brisbane have old heads everywhere, in 2013 we had Mini, LOD, SBW on top of the aforementioned. This proved to be our fatal flaw tonight in my opinion, a lack of character and leadership. The coach can only do so much and is not to blame.

Yeah this is where we missed Jazza. After the initial blunder he would have put in a great hit or strong run and got the team in a good mood again. I think that although Napa and Evans were ok, as was Moa, there was no real leader in the forwards taking command.
          Comment of the year:

actually, after that ridiculous comment I would not be surprised if most on here think you are an idiot.

Its clear to me that we let the wrong half go, I don't think I can survive another 5-10 years of him.
Deep down I think we all know we have let the wrong half go.. Maloney was amazing while Pearce was injured. Pearce and Hastings worries me

Robinson for being loyal to Pearce and wasting a spot.
Jennings couldn't catch a cold cause every time he got the ball just went to the ground

                  Defense was bad all night.

                  Broncos played better!

Pearce and Hastings actually excites me. I think Maloney would have fizzled out in the next couple of years anyway. Tbh, I think Hastings will fill Maloney's role really well and will end up being better than him.

The one thing Pearce had was speed after our club has broken him down by playing him tonight He has probably lost half a yard of that He should never have played Yes we still would have lost probably by more as he was our best in the 1st half But that injury is going to niggle him forever it will always be a weakness whereas if we dont play him he is 100 percent fit for next year II hope I am wrong

I actually thought Pearce's absence from the second half made it bleedingly obvious why he is so important to the team. In the first half we were down 16-0 and his composure in directing the team got us back in the game. He knew early ball to Fergo was what would get us back into it and he delivered that. His kicking was quite good in that first half too.

There was just moments that absolutely killed us in that game. Obviously SKD's howler gave them momentum. Their second try was pretty unlucky. He's one millimetre from being out there. We worked our way back into the game well and were well on top when Friend threw that bad pass to SST and that killed us. A couple of sets later a blatant milking from Hodges gave them field position in the last minute for that try. And then having what I honestly thought was a fair try to SKD disallowed hurt us enormously. The Milford try after the Evans knock on was very smart and caught RTS off guard. And after that point we seemed to think we had to score off every set. It's like they all had Gould in their ear saying how on tilt we were. Jimmy probably needed to step up and steady the ship there in the second half because it was still there to win. We played frantic and panicked basically the entire second half. I think that probably had a little to do with no Pearce. Fergo certainly didn't see any more ball and he was our main weapon.

Extremely disappointed because we had the team to win it if we played to 90% of our potential against any team on their day. I think we'll still be very strong next year. Sure a premiership would be bloody great but I'm still very thankful to be following such a strong footy team and an upstanding club. And anyone who doesn't enjoy 12 wins in a row has lost me. Go the chooks!!!

They were practicing grubbers before the match yet none came from the kickers.

Also shame that that was Rogers last game but it seemed that he was always carrying the ball back and the Broncos always had the answer.

I have always been a fan of Pearce and am an even bigger fan of Hastings,I just feel as halves partners though they may be too similar..Whereas Maloney has that point of difference with his running game
In saying that,I hope you are wrong regarding Pearce's injury..
