The Coach of Woke is broke

I have been following Les Tricolores' (LS) posts and I appreciate his passion. Like LS, I am tired of listening to Robinson speak about everything else that is wrong in league such as his recent article about Gay rights in league. I am happy that this issue is being addressed however I do not understand why Robinson is getting involved. I don't think that it is up to him to push this agenda and this should be left up to greater political powers in the League hierarchy to move this agenda forward. As correctly indicated by LS, Robinson is now walking a minefield as he has taken up the gauntlet of gay rights and some other issues in league. I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR MY TEAMS COACH babble on about nonrelated Roosters issues in turbulent times such as these. If I wish to read about peripheral and ancillary issues in league, then I will focus on articles from League HQ by V landys, Abdo and Co. I think that Robinson's stance has compromised his ability to speak his mind because of the political correctness. In addition, I must admit that every time Robinson spurts' out such phrases as "The Roosters Way" or something to that effect, I feel that it is an arrogance that the players now believe themselves. This maybe the reason why the team does not put in during their games as they mentally believe that they are superior to other teams. I must say that the great coaches including Gibson, Bellamy and Bennett never used such terminology and phrases. I believe our team has lost its mental toughness and that our coach has lost his focus as he is worried about too many other non-related issues and is leaving the running of the team to his assistant coaches. I am not saying that Robinson is a bad coach however the old saying, "You stay on the ball and you stay on the wall" rings true here. Our coach is not focused on our team.

Bit late to the party on this lively thread but I think the issue I have with Robinson is not the views themselves,I respect he is a smart and well balanced bloke who has an understanding that his profile can carry weight and has a right to free speech. I think the issue is that he uses continual buzz words and makes social commentary instead of focusing on the good of the team and standing up for his team, which is what his job is.

Whilst i'm the furthest thing from "woke", the one that really pissed me off was actually footy related Latrell rubbish. Telling us not to boo is ridiculous and the height of arrogance and was tone deaf to say the least. He should've gone in harder on Souff's CLEAR and OBVIOUS attempt to take Teddy out of the game and used his influence but instead he had a go at our discipline (which was bad admittedly) and gushed over Latrell again.

Now the main issue I have with Robbo is his putrid and absurd team selections as of late and his resistance to change things that clearly don't work, dismissing them as simply "Roosters footy" and "finding our identity". He has turned into a corporate goose not a first grade coach. He needs to find his edge again or farrk off.

similarly a little late joining this thread, but after turning off tv at halftime on Friday I’ve kept myself busy with a trip to Dubbo on Saturday for a function then back in Sydney on Sunday for my niece’s wedding just so I can stop thinking of the last two weeks performances which have been a serious throw back to the 90s.

I do agree about the coach being too bloody nice and not installing enough mongrel in sour attitude. I want 17 Radleys and JWHs playing every week. I want our fans to boo the shyte of our opposition players regardless of their colour/background/religion etc … because none of that matters, all that matters is that any player on the field not wearing the RWB is our hated enemy until the full time whistle is blown, then it’s handshakes all round and move onto the next game .

We look too easily dominated by other teams and are not being feared. Our defence is standing back waiting for opponents to run to us, whilst when in possession our opposition is up in our faces as soon as we get the ball with 2-3 defenders smashing us causing numerous errors .

Is Robbo a bad coach? I don’t know what makes a good coach other than winning results and a respectable playing style. At the moment our style ( and some selections) are way below respectability.

This is probably the longest post ever by me and it’s because of the sheer frustration I’ve been feeling all year. Even after winning the ANZAC game, I keep realising we were out scored 5 tries to 4 and thanks to Lonax shyt kicking that won us the game

It’s not Robbo’s place to tell anyone (except for his players and his kids) how to behave towards that grub; very bloody arrogant and I lost a lot of respect for him because of it. His diabolical team selections and stubbornness to rectify are well documented and are hurting the club.

Couldn't agree more. I was also pissed off when he appointed himself the moral compass of society on that matter and many others.

I'm not happy with the teams Roobo is putting on the field either, but the lack of effort and concentration is on the players.

You don't win 3 premiership by being a bad coach, even with a stellar team. That said, I believe there are better coach's out there.
