In fairness we have some good young kids in key positions. With a proper coach they will flourish

Well, I reckon they may as well find a spot in the trophy cabinet for the
            wooden spoon.

Maybe they can beat something with it.

I honestly thought against the Warriors and Bunnies we'd get two in a row for the first time this year and avoid the wooden spoon. But after that defensive effort we deserve the spoon.

We got all the proof we needed that we need a new coach. Our list is going nowhere, the players are not developing and we need the opposites of those to happen and we need another coach to do it.

Towards the end one of our kick offs only went about half a metre away and went out of bounds. That is the worst play I have ever seen.

We were in front and cruising but once again, as has happened many times before we drop off in the 2nd half.

And why does everyone blame the referee? Usually it is actually the team is why you lose, not the referee. If we lost because of the ref why didn't the warriors lose because the ref awarded some harsh penalties against them? Because they made the most of their chances.

The thing that gets me is that so many people (Not on this forum but in other places like newspapers) are saying they won't go for the roosters anymore. To those people, Harden Up.
It is only bad times that make the better times sweeter. Why was the '02 premiership such a good thing? Because of the years without it. What would you do if next year we started winning and the team you went for then was in the position the roosters are in now? True fans stick by their team forever.

Finally why are we letting Freddy continuing throughout the rest of the season? We should have got a care-taker so we could at least maybe have a couple of wins. If we finish our last 7 games with honourable, roll-over-in-the-2nd-half losses or heavy losses what would be the use of that? And within our next 6 games we have Souths, the Knights, the Bulldogs and the storm all on the road so that probably will happen.

Brad Fittler cannot leave soon enough.

That is the wrongest thing I have ever heard. Even after the last year we are still indebted to Freddy. He brought us 9 years of consecutive finals, four grand finals and a premiership. As a coach he salvaged 07, gave us something to cheer about in 08 and did it all with style.

We should all get to the remaining home games of this year and chant for Freddy and send him out as the club legend that he is. If possible we should get him to stay on staff for next year as part of Smith's team. He is part of the fabric of this club.

This bloke is a club legend, up there with Horry and Artie and Dally Messenger and Dave Brown.

You can be glad that the club has decided to make a change but show this bloke the respect he deserves and send him out knowing that we know what he has given our club!

Agreed. He was always going to see out his contract. I could not have ever seen him being terminated mid term, and nor should he be. Freddy will always be around the club.

On the bright side of the game:

                        - Nuuausala looked great, his runs and offloading was outstanding, smashed Hohaia (?) too, huge wraps for him
                        - Setaimata Sa looked far better in the forwards, had his offload working too
                        - Sam Perrett, 20 runs 226 metres, 2 linebreaks and no errors, typically outstanding
                        - Tom Symonds looked great in the centres, 3 linebreaks, 2 tries, 1 try assist, 28 tackles too, top game and he will make a great wide-running forward next year
                        - Ben Jones, 1 try, 1 try assist, 2 linebreaks, 8 tackle breaks, played a great floating role as a five-eighth/centre swapping with Symonds throughout the game

The rest aren't really worth mentioning. Shackleton, Mason, Paea and Fitzy all tried bloody hard, but the rest were well below average.

On todays effort Symonds may be the centre we are looking for next season

I thought Pearce was the only one out there in the second half at times.....definitely worth a mention, if everyone else put in the same effort as him in the second half we walk it in.

Mack im struggling to see what Sa did all day.

Pearce busted his freckle, was involved in everything. He is the only playmaker and keeps copping some shit service but gets on with it and is trying to guide them around.

That Symonds can play footy. Refreshing to see someone make an error (the pass to Jones) and actually LEARN from it mid-game and nail the next one to Pearce who did very well throwing the original ball and backing up.

Jones keeps getting better. Can he kick the footy???

The wingers cost us another game, how many is that this year, 4-5 between all the clowns we have used????

mack, your a bit hard on mase, he had a real go today, each hittup had venom, his tackles were strong.

His only floor seems to be his fitness or you could call it his urgency to get back in defence after a tackle. but today was one od his better matches.

                                What my gripe is.

We kept mason and Friend off for a Very extended period of time and with 17 min to go, friend comming on was our final interchange !!!!!

Thats been a big problem of freddies, his bench rotation, it is VERY POOR !

                                Delecto Oriens est odio Meridianus
