Police should be called, the persons who damaged the property should be charged and Sydney FC should be forced to pay for the costs and then recoup those costs from the guilty parties. But it’s not news worthy, why do you care about something so minor?
It’s what NewsLtd do so well, fool people into thinking that these are the news worthy events actually going on in our world at the moment. Rothfield is nothing more than a gossip columnist.
So excuse me whilst I’m being a goose and taking the piss out of the passing of 30 plastic chairs. My condolences to the stadium plastic chair community.

Of course quality would come into it but 30 broken seats seams extreme

I love football and really enjoy watching the EPL & Serie A but find no enjoyment in the A-league. It’s neither a breeding ground for young Australian talent or an enjoyable brand of football so it’s hard to get invested into it despite how much I love the game.
It’s just why get worked up over some plastic chairs? It’s really not that deep. I would be saying the same thing if it was about the Roosters, it’s just a reflection of outrage culture. It’s petty it’s small, it’s all a detraction from issues that actually matter. Don’t put any time or energy into it, Rothfield is a leech.
Fwiw, I think it is minor newsworthy in the context of a brand new stadium with shared tenancy.

I haven't been able to find an article about it, but I did find an article about violence outside the stadium after the Sydney Derby and graffiti all over the foot bridge over Anzac Pde, and how the WSW supporters took over the road and blocked traffic from Central to walk to the stadium. They seem to have a real chip on their collective shoulder about 'owning' the city, etc.
The seats are easy to break, and there was a lot of trouble with them on opening night with people just sitting on them! I'm sure if you stand on them - as A-League supporter groups do - plenty of them would give way.
While were on the subject, to me the seating rows seem more squeezed in than the old stadium, with less leg room.

They seem to have problems with the seats at Allianz though- The seats could well have been faulty as I did notice on opening night some repairs being undertaken to some of the seats which were not affixed correctly.

I remember the second game after the SFS opened in 1988 against Souths and Steve Mavin dived over in the last seconds to win the game for Souths i kicked the seat in front of me in frustration and it went flying( i was sitting down in the south eastern corner virtually by myself ), the seats back then were better quality than the cheap plastic one there now, i really surprised myself and have never done it again.

I equally share in your dismay as to what's truly important so will just agree to disagree on this one.

Not 2 seats destroyed...30 seats have to be replaced.
Sydney FC will be sent the repair bill next week.
Buzz column.

Maybe FC should be more concerned with crowd control that an illuminated 'Sydney Roosters' sign.
Maybe FC should throw the tarps over violent soccer fans instead.
Soccer's the 'world' game [cough cough - wog ball] that's played by 3rd generation Serbians/Croatians who fight each other for no reason [literally have no idea what they're fighting about] and wankaz who break seats. AFL just has refs doing alleged 'irregular betting' and a Brownlow Medallist going on ice-fuelled rampages, then selling drugs to people at rehab facilities. Oh yeah and they boo indigenous players into retirement... but that's 'not racist'.
I like how League's a bit simpler. Blokes occasionally get drunk and do stupid shyte. That's about it.Last edited by ism22; 11-20-2022, 04:29 PM.

How long will it be before one of these soccer halfwits starts another riot that escalates into a stampede and kills someone? Only last month in Indonesia over 100 people were killed in a soccer riot/stampede.

Having been to a number of English First Division games in the 1980's /1990's it's as tame as nowadays in the Premier League as grounds are all seater with no Terraces. - They do separate the home fans from the away fans still though.
They certainly do have a lot of songs though for opposition teams and their supporters with many quite clever
Nottingham Forest have a fierce East Midlands rivalry with Derby County and Leicester City for instance.
Build a bonfire, Build a bonfire, Put the Derby on the top, Put the Leicester in the middle, And we'll burn the f*cking lot...
I remember going to an England vs Germany game at Wembley with a few of my relatives - Ten German Bombers got a real workout
They need similar type of songs at NRL games - booing the ref or opposition players is well past it's used by date.
A song about Souffs could include references to Centrelink and lack of dental care perhapsLast edited by King Salvo; 11-20-2022, 05:16 PM.
