Just need to keep that going to match other development clubs such as Penrith
No one is even close to them except us. If they keep being blessed by no injuries it really just comes down to player desire. They might lose one or two a year to the cap but given how dominant they are at every level it’s scary what they could do.

    • Let's not get too carried away and intimidated by Penrith.

      Geez, Let's get some perspective.

In the last 22 years, Easts have been in 8GFs and won 4. Weve won quite a few minor premierships, won SG Ball and Jersey Flegg GFs as well. (Against Penrith incidently which had many of their current FG players). If that's not a dynasty in a professional, salary cap era, I don't know what is.

This is not to mention Melbourne and their dynasty in the same period.

What about the Brisbane dynasty?? And they had a junior base of an entire state and no salary cap. Where are they now?

Human nature to suffer from 'recentism'.

Empires rise and empires fall. Penrith are in a purple patch atm. Respect them, but Let's not be intimidated by them.

      2023..Let's hunt some Panthers.

Agree - Their good times are only as good until the next major injury or suspension to a star player.

Winners are grinners but they don't have to be cocky wankers to their opponents. Their bro carry-on is making me dislike them immensely.

One thing we can copy is to play controlled aggression & discipline. When do you see their players being sin binned or suspended for dumb play or their completion rate consistently below 70% a game.

That's the point I was making to King Salvo.. there was no need for their players to do that...Geelong didn't do that to the Swans..classy teams acknowledge and respect their grand final opponents no matter what. I remember Jake and Boyd speaking very highly of and respectfully to our opposition. These boy band antics are very off putting..

On that note, I shall bid you all farewell..take care everyone and be happy, safe and well...enjoy the World Cup those of you watching..should be fun as a spectacle..

The Storm would be the only side close to them if they were full strength this year - they had Welch/Reimis Smith and Papenhuyzen for instance out for a major part of the year.

If you can't play 80 minute games week in week out your not going to be a real contender - you may make the finals playing 50 or so minute games but you will be found out in the finals when you come up agiants those sides that can play 80 minute games.

It was said a number of times in press conferences that they aren't playing 80 minutes but what will be done about it in pre-season for the 2023 season.

Pmsl. How many farewells do you have to post in order to actually go away?

I hope it gets you the attention you do desperately crave.

As I pointed out in another post the Roosters in both 2018 and 2019 played more games against bottom 8 sides than top 8 sides.

Some folk could then also say the Roosters had an equally soft draw as the Sharks and Cows during those 2 premiership years.

Luck of the draw as you can only play who you are scheduled to play against

                Roosters Premiership years

                2018 - 11 games vs other top 8 sides - 5 wins and 6 losses - 13 games against bottom 8 teams - 11 wins and 2 losses
                2019 - 10 games vs other top 8 sides- 6 wins and 4 losses - 14 games against bottom 8 teams - 11 wins and 3 losses

                Sharks 2022 - 9 games vs other top 8 sides - 4 wins and 5 losses - 15 games against bottom 8 teams- 14 wins and 1 loss

                Cows 2022 - 10 games vs other top 8 sides - 5 wins and 5 losses - 14 games against bottom 8 teams- 12 wins and 2 losses

                Penrith's Premiership Years

                2021 - 12 games against other top 8 sides - 11 wins and 1 loss - 12 games against bottom 8 teams - 10 wins and 2 losses
                2022 - 14 games against other top 8 sides - 10 wins and 4 losses - 10 games against bottom 8 teams - 10 wins and 0 losses

Latrell...our brilliant left centre who scored many tries, many points, and won us many games. Our "bobby dazzler Mk2" try at the end of the 2019 GF as part of our "lethal left side", for example.

Despite losing all that talent and calibre.. all things considered we still have one of the strongest rosters out there.

Are we really rebuilding? I don’t believe so. We might be reinventing our playing style and tactics though. But as a whole? I don’t think so.

                    No need.

                      Yes, rebuilding.
Radley is bouncing off opposition forwards.
Panthers lock Yeo, doesn't bounce off.
Suaali'i lets tries in down his wing.
                      Left centre is a problem.
                      We're short a prop.
Our bench needs some more size.

Our roster is strong, but to win a comp we need some x factor.
                      2013 we had SBW.
                      2018/2019 we had Cronk.

You have Cronk as our X factor in our b2b years? Wow interesting, I think our X factor was probably more Latrell and Teddy. We now have Manu who can be our X factor along with teddy’s usual class.

Yeah we are short in the prop rotation position for sure, but does that mean us as a club are rebuilding? No.

LOL BB, suaalii had one of the best debut years a winger has had, nobody should be nibbling on this bait surely

Lattrell was definitely our X factor in 18/19

His passion, power & aggression against Will Chambers to unsettle him & ultimately IMO lose his 1st grade spot at Melbourne & his remarkable flick pass to Toops to get us home against a surging Canberra side will always be remembered.

Manu is more sliky & finesse while Lattrell is explosive power & aggression which made us have an unbelievable centre partnership.

Since he left something is definitely missing.

                                100% on the mark.
Cronk was the general but Latrell was the game breaker & like you said he had explosive power & aggression, he was the X factor.
Manu & Latrell are the best centre pairing the Roosters have ever had.
