That was a penalty. No need to change the rules by removing decoy runners from the game.

I think that after our 2 premierships we lost interest and expect to win without the effort. We’ve become too complacent and I suspect it’s just about the money now not love of the game. To get beaten by lower teams indicated disinterest to me. We begin 2023 with already two players on suspension.,I think some players just don’t give a damn and just want to fight.

I think we’ve got our heads up in the clouds thinking we can win without executing properly. We turn up score a few tries then call it a day and get beaten. Players like Walker and Suualii really put in 110% but some other players seem to enjoy getting sin binned and suspended and they are repeat offenders. Stick them in the lower grades if they keep doing that.

You don't know what will happen in the future but there is no reason I can see why Penrith won't be able to add to these 2 back to back premierships.

Other teams need to raise their game and not think that Penrith will drop their game level.
              Amen.
All that, plus there is circus music and streamers refereeing in some of our games...our coach even spoke out about the reffing of our games this season.

No matter who took the spot in the Grand Final was only ever going to be one winner that’s Penrith, they have had the most dominant 3 year period I have ever seen, thoroughly deserved for such a young team to have such composure and a ruthless attitude and hard work something like 11 losses and nearly 70 wins over that period is just amazing.

The salary cap has bitten them Api key player and Kikau now moving on will bring them down a peg, they won all the lower grade tournaments so ready made replacements are on hand, injuries haven’t bitten them yet with such a young team they have made most of the opportunities.

It’s up to teams like Easts Souffs and Melbourne to really go up a gear and challenge their dominance let’s be honest I don’t see any other teams even going close to them.

We have the right mix in our team perhaps an outside back is needed but our heads are just not in the game we fix that mental side in our team by not losing our heads and I think we can get them but that’s big big if we need to build on our finish to the season and maintain that throughout the year next season.

                GO EASTS

I thought that the Parra forward pack could trouble the Penrith side, but the GF proved exactly the opposite.
Parra did not make a clean break until after the 70th minute, with the score at 28-0.
Not only is the Riff defence watertight, it is absolutely punishing.
That's the take I got out of the game, at the ground
More often than not, the riff's tackles hurt the Parra players.
So by halftime, there was no way the Eels could get back into the game, against that type of defence.
Anyone who thinks the Parra side is not up to scratch is talking bullsh*t - RCG, Paulo, Papalii, Matterson and Lane are rep , or near rep players.
And they got trounced by a physical, powerful , young side, who have contested the last 3 GF's.
A young Riff side , that will get better with experience, and has still got more time to hit its physical peak.
That's a scary thought for a Roosters supporter like me.
The Riff are going to be the benchmark , or close to the benchmark, for 2023.
If they lose a couple of players, guys on their bench, like Sorensen and Leniu , should be able to slot into the starting team
Penrith really could make 5 or 6 grand finals in a row here. It’s up to us to get back into the top two next year and give them a real challenge

I don't think some om here see this - the production line of players will keep them in the mix for premiership for many years to come - The current squad still have their best footy in front of them.

The Roosters are doing well in the juniors comps in making the finals - both Sydney Roosters and Central Coast Roosters and also the agreement with North Sydney Bears creating pathways to NRLW and NRL

Just need to keep that going to match other development clubs such as Penrith

‘We hate Parra’: Panther mocks Eels as Koroisau pokes fun at Tigers

Api Koroisau burst into laughter when he spoke about winning a premiership at the Wests Tigers as a bleary-eyed James Fisher-Harris started the “We hate Parra” chant and declared the class of 2022 “the best Panthers side, ever”.

The premiers were given a rock-star reception on Monday morning at BlueBet Stadium after they had partied all night following their 28-12 grand final victory.

Koroisau won his third premiership ring, including two straight at Penrith, and was asked on stage how he felt about departing for wooden spooners the Wests Tigers a dual club winner.

“This place has been incredible the last three years I’ve been here. It’s turned into a family for me,” Koroisau said.

“There’s so much young talent. To go out on a high like that, it’s pretty incredible, and I’ll probably do the same thing at the Tigers,” he added, before breaking into hysterics.

Video footage of Koroisau being mocked about never winning a premiership ring at the joint venture had surfaced the night before.

Tigers officials did not want to respond to the comments from the dummy-half they paid around $2m for the next three seasons. To be fair to Koroisau, he had no sleep and a few beers.

Panthers Group CEO Brian Fletcher said of Koroisau’s comments: “He couldn’t have played any better than he did here, so I don’t know how he’ll play better there to win a title.
“Good luck to them. It’s a new season next year. Everyone dreams about winning it. All I know is we’ll be competitive again.

“You’d love to keep Api, who wouldn’t want him, it’s the same as Viliame Kikau, you’d love to keep him, but the figures don’t allow you to do it because their value goes up so much when you win a comp.
James Fisher-Harris started the ‘We hate Parra’ chant.

“We need to find another two good players. We lost a couple last year but found Taylan May and Izack Tago. And we’ll find another couple next year. We’ve bought Luke Garner and Zac Hosking. Kurt Capewell came here for less money, but when he left he earned a fortune for his next three years. That’s the idea when you talk about guys like Luke Garner.”

Fisher-Harris is a man of few words but made a point of declaring on stage: “I just want to say, ‘Parra are our sons’. Right here, right now, that’s fact.”

As the fans started yelling out ‘We Hate Parra’, Fisher-Harris said the Panthers team was the best in the club’s history.

It will be decent water-cooler debate among the Panthers faithful, with their 1991 premiership side featuring Greg Alexander, Royce Simmons, Mark Geyer and a baby-faced Brad Fittler.

The 2003 premiers featured Craig Gower, Ryan Girdler, Preston Campbell, and the ‘Hair Bears’ Tony Puletua and Joe Galuvao.

                        • Coach Cleary will likely be there forever, his tenure over in NZ was heralded due to his cultural respect and it no different at the riff.
The riff are a juggernaut whilst the 45% of Pacific Islanders making up the NRL it will only increase over time and so too out at Penrith. That’s their key to success and obviously talent no doubt hence the clean sweep in all comps.

As they say winners are grinners and losers can please themselves.

No problems at all with this as what do you think Roosters players and supporters would be doing if they beat Souths in a GF - There would be no 3 cheers for Souths I suggest

I think you mean 'grinners' and not 'grinders'.

My point is that in all of our premiership wins I do not remember any Roosters teams running around saying how they hated their opponents, drunk or not, the next day. In fact, Penrith should be loving Parra right now..for putting up such a weak performance and allowing them to run away with that game....
