Momo can't attack and can't defend. How the hell is he a professional footballer?

That one on one miss is inexcusable it was 4th tackle and we were holding fine Canberra didn’t throw a lot at us, how on Earth does he almost get around Momo with nothing doing? I’ll tell you how the bloke doesn’t understand the basics of the game he couldn’t read a kindergarten book much less a standard nothing play, he has zero awareness, hands like feet, or nothing between the ears and gets dominated physically by most opposing centres, he’s not FG standard and after today he shouldn’t be in the side period, I’m no Trent Robinson but how many more games in the future is this guy going to cost us with simple one on one missed tackles? He has struggled all year especially defensively.
If you’re a centre this has to be your biggest strength defending as a lot of crucial tackles you make will be one v one you don’t have to be a coach to see this, what options do we have King?
AK- he’s no different won’t solve the issue.
Billy Smith- He’s not a winger but he’s physical and will do a better job then what’s being dished up atm.
Watson- I’m not sure where this bloke fits in our team but we couldn’t do any worse atm.
And of course there is Big Joe S but he’s going great on the wing.
Ridiculous to say Momirovski cost them the game though or any other game one has to honestly say - the reason they are in the position they are in is the inability to play for 80 minutes simple as that - As i have said before a team or every individual in that team wont be at their best for 80 minutes week in week out so they have to find a 80 game which they are able to replicate as a team and individually consistently over 80 minutes week in week out.
Not the 30 or 40 so minutes the Roosters play for in a game week in week out.Last edited by King Salvo; 06-06-2022, 08:31 PM.

Paul atm should go to Reggies and get some confidence back nail the basics and hopefully he can come good I’m not solely blaming him for the loss but that miss in the context of the game cost us any chance of winning.

They make too many errors - 3rd most errors / 14th in set completions/ 3rd most missed tackles. Aall these errors and ill discipline add up
While we are at it this will really stir the pot & im not picking on JS but people rave over him in the air but he dropped some absolute sitters yesterday. Different game but I’ve yet to grasp how catching hasn’t translated into the NRL, as in the AFL you would have expected a 10 yr old to hold all of them catches yesterday. It just seems that despite all the training, that professionals can’t catch a simple ball in the air.

Momorovski's miss didn't cost them any chance of winning the game at all and he had no involvement in the conceding of the first 3 tries which were all duly converted. - 18-6 at one stage
Raiders win in any case 18-16 if even if they didn't score that try and no use saying oh they could have scored a late try and won it as the odds of that happening even if 18-16 were very very very slim based on what had been happening all game in the Raiders red zone. - 43 tackles in the opponents 20 which only resulted in a barge over/close range try and a try from a kick. - 3rd try from outside the 20.
Imagine what Penrith and Storm would do to in a match if they had 43 tackles in their opponents red zone - certainly would be scoring more than 2 tries.

I'm going to get the backlash for this but what I've seen if Momo for most of this year(not all) does not represent my opinion of his playing skills.
He is way out of form but I don't think that he is hit his ceiling.
We have all seen how good he can be, he just needs to go back to NSW cup to find his form.

I know it's not an easy gig defending in the centres particularly with Walker next to him but he has to be better and he's been pushed into touch with the ball on too many occasions.
Looks like hes down on confidence and uneasy playing on the left edge with a right hand carry.
Naquima did him no favours and looks like he's well past his best.
Left centre has been a weakness so far this year.

We bought Momers because he is on the up...played for the current premiers in 2021 grand final.
And, he didn't cost a fortune.
We just need to get our high performance coaches to improve his defence.Last edited by bondi.boy; 06-07-2022, 04:13 AM.

He didn't cost a fortune.
We just need to have our high performance dept guide him in the direction our head coach requires.
