IMO he’s in there to get used to the Origin camp and culture but won’t play at least until next season. This is similar to Graham from Souths and Utoikamanu who were in the Blues squad for a game last season.

I think it’s an excellent move by Freddy including Suuali in the squad because it gives the boy a vision of his career in RL and he now knows he can go a long way, become a rep player and have a highly successful career in RL. As of todays selection his price would have doubled.

Congrats to Toops and Sualli, and of course Teddy.

Suallii making it is pretty crazy. Agree hes there for experience on training squad more than anything. Already growing so much week to week, but this surely takes his game even higher this season .

I was honestly shocked by Suuali’s selection but many commentators were saying that it was his brilliant attack and defence and passing that got us on fire and I fully agree. As soon as he came off our defence and attack struggled. He is a freak indeed. He was my man of the match for all the little things he did behind the scene which had a major effect on our win.

Nicho Hynes tipped to replace Wighton on the bench which means Wighton will play against us. Suaalli also will drop out of the team & play against Canberra.

Uncle Nick on the blower to Freddie, greasing the wheels for Suaali to stay at the chooks and Rugby League in general.

This dude would be the biggest loss to league if he defected. More than RTS.

It is a bit strange though, does he get paid for being selected in the squad?

Suaalii will basically play the role of Coates and Cobbo during training sessions, good luck To'o.
Fair enough, no doubt Suaalii has been fantastic and being around Origin and will do wonders for his long term future in the NRL and with the Roosters, just was surreal to see considering he's only played 12 games of 1st grade footy.

Tupou is great to see being rewarded for his great play, really excited to see him on the wing again for the blues. Was annoying to see ppl complain about Tupou's selection online and bringing up that one error he had in 2020, one error should never rule out a player for selection especially a great player like Tupou.

Wouldn't think for not making the top 17.....probably a free Blues track suit & flag

Probably not the 30k. I didn't want to allude to it being the dollars morseo a rep future and being in camp to keep him excited about staying in league.

Is it unprecedented? Any other player in history being selected so young with so few NRL games played?

He has always been a league junior, playing with Glenmore Park Brumbies from when he was about 8yo. Kings gave him a scholarship so they could win their GPS rugby. Many little mungoes have been given rugby scholarships by CAS and GPS schools in their sports arms race. Don't be fooled by the rugby propaganda that league 'poached' them.

Really happy for Toops. He is the most underrated winger in the comp.

TBH I was a little surprised that both JAC and JTurbo were overlooked. They are both SOO players.

Tyson Frizzel was surprise pick IMO, ftom a team struggling

Congrats to Teddy leading the team again. Following in a honoured line of Roosters/NSW leaders... Freddie and Cords

Nice to see Tupou rewarded, He should have 10+ origin caps by now, as he has been the best winger in the comp (most of the time) for nearly a decade, with only Brett Morris to rival him. Shouldn't have been dropped in 2020 either.

Great reward for Suaalii too, who really is something special.

With all the injuries though, I might have QLD slight favourites. See how we go.
