If you finish top 4 and lose the first week of the finals you are in the same position as the winners from the 5 vs 8 and 6 vs 7 games.

All depends how you are playing and the players you have and their fitness in how you go in a finals series irrespective of how many games you play.

No u are not. If you finish anyway between 5th and 8th then u cannot drop a game....massive difference. The issue is u are required to win 4 straight if 5th or lower..

It's almost impossible to win 4 finals games straight...even last yrs premiers the panthers dropped one.

Plus our record in big games is hardly inspiring...

Yep 8th ranked team narrowly misses out on getting a result against 1 of 2 pretty much invincible teams. Such pretenders!

I get that we're used to winning premierships and stuff but our 'in between' seasons could be a LOT worse. Yesterday's result demonstrates we're in the race. We're NOT pretending... we're a farking whisker away from giving it to the big dogs.

The thing I hate about those who bag the team regularly on here is that when we win they CLAIM to be Roosters fans. And their CLAIM to be giving an HONEST opinion is supposed to justify their negativity about a team they CLAIM to SUPPORT. To me they represent the worst of society, the dregs, with no class or sense of decency, just nobodies who like to tear things down.

I think we are one of the top teams in the comp and we sure gave the storm a fright. That form against the lower sides and we’d easily be in the top 4 right now. We needed to wake up that every team considers us a prized trophy especially the lower teams with coaches jobs on the line. We got complacent and got beaten. It should never have happened. But here we are possibly out of the 8 with in form Manly and Canberra ready to pass us. We can still make it but we need to string together some big wins to get the 2 points as well as boost our FA.
