I’m just saying that you felt like it forced upon you, just like it’s being forced upon us now. Difference being, and no disrespect but the woman’s game has got a LONG way to go in gaining interest like the mens game. The realistic part is that it will just never get there.

                  im all for anyone trying follow their dreams and trying to be the best they can at whatever they choose to do however im from the previous century and am not really one for woman’s contact sports.
                  No need to feel for me. As I said, I loved the sport and still do and was (and still am) in the minority. It is other women who feel that men's sport is forced on them. Traditional TV shows taken off air for a week or delayed to allow State of Origin to fill up 3 hours for example.

                  I am of the previous century as well. Probably older than you

                    True. Good point.
                    The only game of NRLW I watched all year was the Grand Final, because the Roosters were in it! I didn't have time to watch any more as I spend too much of my spare time watching the mens!

                          They need to look at multi year contracts although the NRLW points system /player allocation may prevent that despite having a salary cap ? - certainly hard for the players not knowing where they will be playing season to season as they have to work outside their football commitments including their family commitments.

                          Why the Bronco's were able to keep the bulk of their Squad over the past 4 years - only lost 2 players to the Titans for the 2021 season for an example

                          Roosters lost 12 players including 9 regular 17 starting players as teams had to give up players to the new teams - not sure how the Roosters had to give up more players than the other 3 teams though which speaks volumes for the current Roosters pathway system - Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy ( Tarsha Gale Cup under 19's ) and NSW Women's Premiership (Central Coast Roosters ) as more than 1/2 the squad came through that system to NRLW and more than 1/2 the Squad were playing their first NRLW season.

                          NRLW Points System for 2022 - Each club can accrue a maximum of 130 points for 24 players
                          • 10 points - A player who was offered a "Tier A" central contract for the 2021 NRLW season - a maximum of four players at each club only;
                          • 9 points - A player who was selected and participated in the 2020 Women's State of Origin;
                          • 8 points - A player who was selected and participated in the 2019 Women’s State of Origin; OR
                          • 8 points - A player who was selected to represent and participated in the respective Test between a Tier One country against a Tier One country in the 2019 calendar year;
                          • 6 points - A player who was selected and participated in the 2018 Women’s State of Origin; OR
                          • 6 points - A player who was selected to represent and participated in the respective Test for a Tier One country in the 2018 calendar year;
                          • 4 points - A player who was selected to represent and participated in the 2021 All Stars match; OR
                          • 4 points - A player who participated in the 2020 NRLW Premiership;
                          • 3 points - A player who was selected to represent and participated in the 2020 All Stars match; OR
                          • 3 points - A player who participated in the 2019 NRLW Premiership; OR
                          • 3 points - A player who was selected to represent a Tier Two country in the 2019 calendar year;
                          • 2 points - A player who was selected to represent and participated in the 2019 All Stars match; OR
                          • 2 points - A player who was selected to represent the Prime Minister’s XIII in 2018 or 2019;
                          • 1 point - All other players who do not fit any of the above criteria.
                          Players who had signed contracts for the competition's fourth season in 2021 will remain with their NRLW clubs before becoming free agents ahead of the fifth season later in 2022.

It would be a step backwards to dilute the competition by bringing in too many teams too soon if there are not enough good players going around. I feel the same way with the NRL amd the introduction of the Dolphins.
                            The AFL will have a full 18 team AFLW comp starting I think in December this year so you have to keep up with the Joneses. They are targeting 2026 as when they become full time profession players.

                            NRL are always slow out of the blocks on things and often copy what the AFL does.

                            As far as players go that is unknown.

                            When there was 4 teams there were only 96 contracts available with 6 teams 144 contracts.

                            The standard this season was higher which may mean there is an untapped source of players who because of limited contracts in previous NRLW season are able to play as a result of more teams and more contracts being available.

                            Longer comps (more than 5 rounds) are needed and as the players progress towards full time professional status the standard will keep improving

                            Certainly the Roosters were better the longer the comp went

                              Still no point rushing unless the product is good. A diluted product won't comnpete with the AFL anyway. The advantage they have too is the AFL is truly a national competition.

                                yeah ks, it's an issue but i can't see them doing anything different so long as new teams are coming into the comp - they'll be wanting the talent to be evenly spread.
