Hi Fred, so good to see you show your face again.

I'm not going to go over this shit with you over and over. But I'm glad you exposed yourself, now I know which posts to skip over.

Thats odd, Soward was MOM in his first match for us in 1st grade.

then was dropped to the bench in match 2

In 2 of his other 3 starting appearances, MOTM again.

Pearce was rubbish early on, he was rubbish in flegg and at the jets also, yes he was 17, he was still rubbish.

we were getting beaten badly in 1sts with pearce.

It is also no co-incience that when pearce was created a back injury ( they couldnt say dropped to shatter his confidance) and wing moved back to half we went on our longest winning streak of the season.

Whilst Soward continues to improve in leaps and bounds, Pearce continues to be a one shot palooka with no creative instinct who is consistantly taking the wrong options in attack and falling off simple tackles in defence.

BUt as we all know Its someone else's fault for these difficences in his game and somone elses good work for Sowards MOTM performances.

Soward is in the right circumstance. He is playing with a good team and a great coach that has knocked the ego out of St George.
Bennett has come along and I suspect kicked the shit out of the club, he got rid of the idiots and transformed others into team players. This is why St George is doing well and it gives Soward a perfect platform for the way he plays the game.

I can't say how well Soward would have gone if he had stayed at Easts, but I think the team would still be struggling and he probably would have been miserable in the current environment.

Someone (or a few someones) has taught Soward well and he has listened and although
Pearce is a different sort of player he hasn't been taught properly and is not in the right circumstances.

I would sure like Easts to be going as well as St George and Soward but it aint going to happen without some major changes.

You dont get it do you? Pearce or Soward...it wouldnt matter. We would be badly beaten with either or both. Because the rest of the team are ****ed. there is no platform. We are coached badly. Soward is playing liek a champ because A. He is well coached. B. His forwards and team mates are playing out of their skins. Every kick and bounce goes his way because his forwards are doing teh work to give him space. yo look at teh NRL tactics on Fox, and you can see him standing 20 meters behind 3 blockers around the ruck. He has an hour to get kicks away - thats a well coached side.

At Easts he would be failing like the rest of our team. That is something you have to admit. In today's game, no one man can turn a game around without the support of his team mates and a game plan. No one.

its been 2 ****ing years since the little diving ponce has left, and you are still crying. Get over it, We are stuck with Pearce like it or not. Unfortunately we are also stuck with no training or coaching.

I caught the segment that showed that kick on video replay and it did highlight how offside the Dragons forwards were standing, in a perfect shield for the kid that created space in front of the ruck.

You know the one, you saw it too.

Its obvious, its simple. Generally, The show is ****ed, cant stand most of the Fox league shows, I never watch pre-game shows or any League related shows, except the live games.

I've only ever watched the first episode of it, the first 10 minutes made me cringe and I changed the channel. I don't know what segment you're referring to, but Wayne Pearce on a touch screen bumbling through his words like he has a clue doesn't really interest me all that much.

It's clear as day Soward stands deep, funnily enough, so too can someone like Pearce who has a long boot and speed, most just choose not to employ the tactic as they don't want to give up 5 or 6 meters. The forwards have little to do with that tactic.

He is so quick that he puts his team onside as he runs through...

Again, it is just Bennett getting the best out of what he has..

Soward has a big boot and plenty of speed...It is commmon sense actually to have him so deep...

when the excuses stop i will stop.

yes we are farked on and off the field

but he is also a part of this, not the sole part but a major player.

He is poorly coached, but on the field he has to be found responsible for the decisions he makes, missing a tackle, throwing a bad pass, getting tackled on the last, putting in a bad kick is his fault, not someone elses.

To get where he has he must have some form of ability and decision making skills in his arsenal, that is not coached.

I take your point Soward is well coached, but what exactly is stopping Pearce from standing deeper to give himself more time????

                        Nothing thats what.
Like Soward was not afforded these excuses at Easts with the same inept bunch, why should Pearce.

I hate the fact he was let go.

I am over that fact, so is he.

My gripe is the same people who ridicule Soward and call him a fluke and give credit to everyone else bar him are the same people who praise Pearce at every oppotunity and find no fault in his game.

he makes mistakes, as does every other NRL player, not because he is young, because he is human.

HE MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN ACTIONS ON AND OFF THE FIELD, IF HE ISNT HE WILL NEVER LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone mentioned he can take almost as long as he likes to kick without fear of being touched or barrelled as he gets his kick away. Funny I noticed Pearce taken out after a kick the other day yet that was ok.

Soward rarely gets hit when taking a kick because of two reasons.
                            a. He stands so deep that he can pace himself for a kick, any player trying to charge him down has time to pull out of the play.
                            b. He has great footwork when positioning himself, if any player charges out of the line at him, he has the ability to quickly re-position himself and avoid the chargedown.

To suggest anything like the ref's giving him more time is completely erroneous. Much of the time for players to get to him in time they need to be offside because he stands so deep, and if they aren't they are so committed to one line to get to him in time they are easily avoided with a quick step. Players rarely make contact with him as a result.

When is Jaaaaa-amie going to take responsibility for his actions off field? I was at a little party in Sylvania, it wasnt a good look, blind as a bat, and acting like he was pearce's age, even though he has a few years on him. My mates missus wasnt impressed.

Looks are deceiving. I give credit where its due. Soward is fast - no substitute for speed. His kicking game is mostly good, and sometimes freakish. His defense is ordinary. His team mates are exceptional. His forwards suit his game plan. his coach knows how to get the best out of him. he is a diver.

thats as straight forward as I can get. Factual too.

Point B Is an interesting one and one I was going to bring up as the new rule makes it easier for him and anyone else to reposition himself and take the defenders on instead of kicking. Its now easier to do as the defender cannot touch him.The new rule with the kickers is ridiculous and way to heavily favouring the kickers.

Finally there was no suggestion at all of Soward being given more time by the referees.Just the observation that the other night Mitchell Pearce was hit after kicking yet no penalty was given.
