Geezus! Lucky MLK didn't have you around his time otherwise when he uttered those words "I have a dream..." You would have told him to stop fantasising!

Ease Up! It's Hypothetical! Do I need to tell you what that means?
Stop making things up to suit you, I’ve never ever said you can’t be critical of South’s. At the end of the day South’s are on your mind a lot more than what they are on my mind.
If the Chooks can’t win the comp then I hope Manly does then Parra.

I come to The Chookpen to escape hearing/reading about that topic so would greatly appreciate it if you didn't bring that topic up at the slightest opportunity.

      Thank you.

oh no. I have been blasphemous. How dare I state the obvious that Walker will be better than an aging Keary within a couple years. Or that under the new rules more responsibility has been handed to the likes of Radley and Teddy, or that Keary has no kicking game like Cleary or Reynolds, and no experience as an organising halfback. I should be talking about nominating Keary as a future immortal...

Close comp in 2014 - 2 byes then as well - Chooks 2014 had the same win/loss ratio as the 2021 Chooks- all teams bar Cronulla were 20 plus comp points- 10 teams won 50% or more of their games

If he does come I hope he wears jumper number 53 though- A third party deal wth Volkswagon perhaps

I know it says so on some profiles of him but there is no way on earth Herbie Farnworth is 106kg. He’d be very lucky to crack 100. Very good player and I wouldn’t say no to him. But he’s not significantly bigger than Keighran. Personally, I think both Keighran and Billy Smith have more upside than Farnworth. By 2023 Farnworth will be worth around $600k. Both Smith and Keighran will likely be closer to the $300k level. If Smith stays fit (big question I know) I think he could be a star in our side and realistically be worth closer to $500k but undoubtedly he’d re-sign for much less given how we’ve stuck by him. In my opinion, if he and Suaalii can go uninjured for the next two years they’ve be better than Farnworth, even though I rate him highly.

Re Keary, I think it’s very tough to judge him so negatively considering he only played 3 games as a 7 this year. It was clear that Robbo changed his role leading into the season. The number 7 did mean something. He played the first 3 games very differently to previous years. His kicking game was strong and he controlled our attack very well. Regardless of what happens this year I think Keary steps straight back into the 7 role. Hutch and Walker will share the 6 next year if we get to a prelim. Keary has won 2 comps for us. Was absolutely dominant in the first GF and made the game-winning play in the second. He’s got 4-5 years of elite footy left in him.

Hutch still lives in Wollongong. I would not be at all surprised if he’s at Cronulla in the halves under Fitzy at the end of his current contract.

You are obviously a noob or you would not be questioning me about 2018: We will win the comp - The Chookpen | Unofficial Sydney Roosters Forum

Here is what I said about Keary in 2016. Replace Maloney with Keary, Keary with Walker. Get back to me in a few years time. In the meantime, please do ignore me. I want to talk objective Footy, not this one-eyed Keary is an irreplaceable superstar bs.

You will all forget about Maloney when you eventually realise Keary is better than him.

I always love how people Say “anyone can beat anyone” (it hasn’t been happening this year btw) and then have like 3 examples in the last 25 years to back it up

Canterbury in 2014 in 6th or 7th whatever they finished were only about 2 wins behind us in 1st place they were hardly some dog shit team making up the numbers

If the dopey wicked witch of west actually acted in the beginning instead of doing fark all until it was too late we’d have been out of this mess a long time ago
So you think if Keary was the only one missing we would not win the comp?

                    1/ Teddy

FM I think we can go close with the squad we have. The team above without Keary would be $1.50.
                    Keary would make us $1.04.

I doubt Lam, Ikuvalu, Hutch, or Keighran would take priority just because they won a premiership. Although I hope we keep Hutch.

I don't care about what you said in 2016 or in April, 2018 I asked whether you watched the 2018 grand final; the one where Keary put in a masterful 11/10 performance playing both the 6 and 7 roles getting the churchill medal for best player on ground and it wasn't even close. I asked because you said some nonsense about Keary can't organise as a half when he did it on the biggest stage with the team all but playing the game 12 v 13

If we win the comp, it would be Robbo’s greatest season by a country mile and it would be one of the great rugby league stories. Winning a premiership is tough enough, especially so without your halfback, hooker and two captains.

We are currently paying $41 to win the comp.

Seems a super long shot, but sport has a habit of turning on surprises and Cinderella stories. Greece in 2004 Euros, the EPL with Leicester, Bradbury etc. Would be remarkable if we achieve such a Rocky Balboa underdog moment, considering all our injuries, suspensions and retirements.

Seems unlikely, but you never know. Whatever happens, super proud of our mighty and proud club. Go Easts.
