We are a season and a half removed from achieving something that not many clubs have achieved. Since then we've seen some of the most unfortunate runs of luck that I have ever seen as a young fan. From that 2019 winning squad 6 key members have left. One going to the enemy, one settling down with his wife in Sydney after a legendary career, another winding down a great one-man club career and the other 3 having to cut their careers short when they should've been here for another couple of seasons.

From some of the worst injury luck impacting both 2020 and 2021 and having to deal with occasional bs with the refs alongside having to endure ruff performances against top opposition has all lead to this. The club have tried their absolute best to replace the 6 players mentioned with mixed results.

Personally I believe everyone is very reactionary currently which includes myself however, we can only go off on what we see on a week to week basis which has lead to some throwing in the towel or bringing out knifes to attack players as to use as scapegoats. I echo my sentiments on my last post in the match day thread heavily, cause realistically this season has caused a lot of fear which has stemmed from that loss to Souffs last yr.

In relation to those scapegoating players, they might not be up to your standards but you have to simply understand that the Roosters won't have quality back ups in every position and have to be realistic with how injuries have treating the roosters since 2020. I repeat that we only can realistically make a proper evaluation once the last game of the season is over.

Back to back drubbings against the 2 best teams have made us disillusioned with the state of the team but we have to stay optimistic cause who knows what can happen. Throwing in the towel now would go against all the praise we gave to the team early on for being courageous during the early injury crisis. I stress that we stay optimistic and take each game as it goes before evaluating the season as a whole. The squad clearly has the talent and the heart to give the season a shake and I personally believe that the squad is capable of surprising everyone. It may or may not end up in a premiership but stay by the players whether you like all of them or not and trust in trent.
Well said, the transition plan for a lot of players got accelerated due to career ending injuries and the young players are simply not physically ready to play at an elite standard yet. They will all take time to reach a consistent high standard particularly the forwards. Some may never get there and we will need to recruit. However with all our challenges we are still in the top 8 and doing better with a half a reserves side than 10 other teams. The future is bright because of the quality of our operation and our systems.

Nothing wrong with losing, it's part of sports but what's also part of sports is discussion because we are not sheep (There's no pun intended here), the good and the bad...

And please don't send me anymore texts with farm animal videos please!

Well done RoosterBoi. There are more backslaps here for negativity than good stuff like you have written...takes some courage. I think your closer sentence sums things up.

Manly could overtake us this week and then there is only dragons and sharks behind us but with losses against the top teams a top 8 finish is not guaranteed unless we win a good few of our remaining matches.
the finals is another comp. atm our goal is to play the best footy we can every week and the prize is making the 8. we can't take that for granted but if we lose to everyone above us on the table but beat everyone under us then we'll win 6 from 9. that's achievable

              Well said, and all true.
              However, we were thrashed 0-46.
Teddy needs to fix his defence of kicks tactics.
We did not even score one point.
Not even one point in 80 minutes.
0-46 and Cronk is coaching their halves.
That has to stop. He should be made
              coach us alone or them.
Every game we give away dumb penalties, which cost us field position, more tackling,
              momentum, and often points.
Strips, knocking players over off the ball, grabbing players' ankles as they try to play the ball etc.

Thank you very much, I wanted this post to be an encouraging one that puts perspective on the season. We may of lost back to back against the best but that shouldn't mean we should throw away the towel. To me I always try and find the best parts of a bad situation and felt that the pen needed some perspective after two losses like these past few wks.
