Meh. She's fully vaccinated and was on a hippie farm before the period in question so she hasn't broken any rules. We've had a couple of dirty looks and stuff but whatevz.

Now Canberra's mandated indoor masks so there's a fukking bum rush to the shops to hoard TP and masks. I was at Bunnings getting a hinge that stays up to (finally) upgrade one of our upwards-opening kitchen cabinets when the announcement happened. A massive hoard suddenly rushed in (no social distancing), grabbed as many masks as possible and the pushed into the queue. I had to push through the crowd and be like 'can I just buy this farking hinge?!?'

Afterwards I went to my local (smallish) supermarket to grab some beers for the footy. Same thing happened!!! 'OMG YOU STILL HAVE TOILET PAPER?!?!? I WILL TAKE THE REST!!!' All while I was (quietly - like before) thinking 'faaaark me... can you all get stuffed and let me buy my farking beers and snacks for the footy?!?!? I have TP and a washable mask already!!! Quit hoarding shyte you don't need!!!'
100% mate. Was at Costco late this morning to renew my membership. Took a walk around and not a single roll of bum wipes anywhere! Remembering what happened last year, I asked one of the staff where was the toilet paper and the said it was all sold out on Saturday. I think people here are expecting it to make its way here eventually so they are getting in early. I can’t see Canberra getting too much of anything like dunny rags in the near future as stores like Costco will prioritize the Sydney market for bigger volume sales.

I'm happy but it's odd... after so many years of getting worked up over it (don't think I ever saw NSW kept to zero BTW?) I'm not beating my chest and stuff. Gonna slip into bed quietly and sleep it off.

        Weird...

Damn! Thankfully we've got enough (and I suspect our local supermarket will have some). Message me if you ever run out... can always spare some for other Easts fans.

Thanks mate but I’m good. I was actually going to get some for the oldies up the street who don’t get out and about much. I’ve got a large pack in my basement from last years craziness so I will pass that on to them instead of keeping for what might or might not be.

              Stay safe mate.

People were buying like crazy in the shops on Saturday - double and triple the amounts they would normally buy - I had to go to 4 stores ( Coles/Woolies/ Aldi/IGA) to fill the shopping list plus the Butcher and Fruit and Veg shop.

Really annoyed that they had run out of Dairy Farmers Milk and that i had to buy other less pleasing on the pallet brands. The shelf stacker's were overwhelmed as they only a couple on duty as usually they do this at night.
