I'm curious. Do people simply think Cooper is an average footballer, or is it the salary figures reported in the media that are turning people off?
Definitely the salary figures for me. The guy can play and would most likely succeed in the NRL to some degree. But for $700,000K an an unproven player who may take months or even years to fully adjust can't be justified. I mean we are talking about the guy as a fullback but what other fullback or player is on that kind of cash? Jaryd Hayne? Man if we want to spend that money lets make a massive play for Slater or Hayne. Yes the salary cap will increase but only so much. Cooper also strikes me as a media whore and a potential salary cap burglar. Braith Anasta part two?

I think he is a hugely gifted attacking player and has Benji like freakish skills. The problem is we have a 5/8 locked up (Maloney) and I would be concerned about whether he would be cut out to play Fullback in League. The pace of the game in union is so much slower and fullbacks generally have a lot more time and space to run the ball back due to differences in the offside rules from kicks. Defensively I think he would be a liability.
In a world without salary caps I would be all for it because if it didn't work out you could look to replace him the following year and not worry about someone picking up the tab. For $700K+ large I just don't know why you wouldn't look to sign a proven league player (almost anyone could be signed for that amount) who still had youth on their side.
Don't want SBW if it means we lose the like of Guerra,Tasi,Masoe and Cornder. SBW will come a big cost and without doubt we will lose at least two of those players. No more dogs.
My sources tell me that $BW deal with the Roosters includes two fights a year for $750k each and that there is going to be a massive Salary Cap blowup from other Clubs and officials as a result
From what Ive seen and heard about our youth and trials now I can see the SBW signing blowing up in our faces.
We plenty of great talent coming through and we dont want to lose it to other clubs
Wake up Rooster Heads.
My good judge mate who was out there (a Saints supporter) said he has never seen so many talented kids at one club ever its enough to win you a comp and that when Anasta comes in he just gets in teh ways and stifles play -He said Tevesheck is unreal.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Certainly he stifles the play, apparently Morts thrived in the minutes at 5/8 & with body guards like FPN who needs size. Also Mitchell tackled the big units so we have no shortage of No 6's, you dont need to be a freak in this position if the team is solid.
The class of RTS will shine through & will be a superstar down the track. Back home my nephew played him many times & always raved about how talented & what a leader he was for his teams.
Next year there will be an abundance of young talent but IMO Sonny will be required for his maturity & leadership, I see him as our Captain & lock.
