I feel like I shouldn’t contribute these days
    For many reasons,
besides passion, besides boredom, besides ignorance.......my love for the roosters is like a drug I can’t kick

it’s like an existential crisis.......what is the point of writing here any more.
I’m so bored reading with what is written.

    however,
this year I’m half interested because of the unknown........

    The coach is vulnerable
The squad faces questions on hunger
The amazing benefactor gets one year older........and we can’t rely on him forever
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

The coach is vulnerable not because he could lose his job
the coach is vulnerable because he has had a cracking squad for years and he has delivered....god bless him
he now has a squad that isn’t favoured to win the comp

Dont see anything to worry about.Sure the halves roles raises questions.Even goal kicking.
              They are a great team.
Its more of will they adapt to the new rules well.Probably because they have shown to adapt to every style of play against them .
Injuries was our only setback last year and we still competed well.It was marginal that we missed the GF.
As for our benefactor.....took him a while to get it right.Weather those who will be put in his place have learned anything from him.
Plus Donald Trump has been acquitted so he is up for the gig and will fit right in here on this forum....your more like Biden...

we all need our roosters fix.

take a break from here if it helps, check in every few days, once a week. only comment when you want. you can still support easts without coming on here.

but mainly - it's the off-season and there's nothing going on

I get where you are headed Trew, should be a very interesting year for us. I expected us to win in 2018-20 with the squad we had, but don't this year which makes it more exciting for me as I don't expect to win every match.

What will be interesting this year is how much the club has inculcated a culture like that of Melbourne's. Clearly, Robinson is a figurehead and leader at least on a par with Bellamy and the squad is a solid one but, unlike Melbourne which is aways competitive whatever the outcome of the season previous, Roosters of the past have, like the proverbial souffle, been unable to rise more than once.
Although this side has managed to rise twice in recent years, crucial members of that squad have moved on and my guess is that the Club hasn't yet achieved that resilient consistency that we see in Melbourne, The Broncs, the Bulldogs of yesteryear and to some extent Manly. (I discount The Dragons of the 50s and 60s because, courtesy of the Taj Mahal at Carlton, they pretty much bought that string of premierships).
What, in my opinion, sets Melbourne apart is its code isolation which promotes the bonding of the playing group.

what the storm have done over the last two decades is phenomenal. they're ahead of all teams in the modern era. them winning last year has put them ahead of us for the last decade.

if you take out rep footy bellamy's ahead of bennett for mine, in their off years the glory day broncs often limped into the finals and got knocked our round 1.

robbo's had one dud year and given injuries and suspensions in that year i'm not sure it's a big stain on his record.

the roosters haven't been souffle like under robbo and you'd expect us to go well this year. no doubt robbo doesn't have that relentlessness about him that bellamy has but if we win the comp in the next year or so robbo will be on par.

If we are a souffle looking at our achievements this century, Souths must be more of a plum duff....minus the plums.

Souths weren't mentioned - not in the resilient category - but anyway....

By the way Salvo I haven't seen mention of Volkman in any of the team listings. I know that you're a fan, do you have any mail?
