Both big losses and though jmoz was a great replacement would we have stuck with Flanagan if he wasn't our goal kicker?

Who was the bigger loss? Latrell or Cronk!

Cronk for sure. In 14,15 and 17 we had disappointing final series results.Cronk was bought to the club to fix this and the results spoke for themselves,2 premierships and 6 out of 6 wins in the big end of season games. Conceded just 42 points in those 6 games. No Cronk this year coupled with the loss of Radley and we underperformed in the finals once again.

I doubt if Flanagan would have came back in to the top 17 without Lams injury...and yes thats an opinion too.

On the Fox wrap-up after the game, Braith Anasta was really giving it to Flanagan. Cooper Cronk chimed in with his opinion which was that he considers that Flanagan could be as good as Cleary in the next 3-4 years. Obviously he sees something in him so maybe Robbo and the other coaching staff do as well. The question is are we prepared to wait 3-4 years. IMO he didn't have a bad year and his goal kicking definitely improved over the season. You can't replace a 340 gamer with a 15 gamer and expect the same result. As others have suggested here, the loss of Victor and Sam were probably more contributing factors to the end result than Flanagan. Bring on 2021. There is no way that this is the end of the Roosters era.

For me Flanagan doesn't say Rooster. His attitude when dropped was only about him being shocked , nothing to do with needing to improve or the club being the main focus. I never got the feeling he was loved amongst the other guys either.

The game has changed with the six again and the momentum swings and possibly more rule changes keeping the ball in play longer- The NRL want high scoring games with the more successful teams being the ones with the better attack.
The Chooks lost these finals games as a result of poor defence- sloppy one on one misses /arm grabs and lazy play -not getting back into position - conceding 28 and 16 unanswered points in quick fashion - Cronk would have made no difference and neither would Latrell who was not always on his game in defence one has to say.

Cooper for sure and certain.
Latrell, as good as he is and can be, was too hit and miss for us. Cooper, on the other hand, was very consistent, and you cannot discount those other attributes, i.e. leadership qualities etc. I will never forget what he did for us in 2018. Special!MRR or Rabid
Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

As for defensive qualities on the right edge, take a look at Cronk tackling Asufa Solomona with a broken shoulder near the try line in the 2018 decider. Enough said.
