  • My Team for Penriff Game

This is the team I would like to see against Penrith. I think that the back row/bench would change depending on the side we are playing. Against Penriff putting Sitili and Flanagan up against Kikau is a recipe for disaster. However, against Melbourne with their big bench I would have them there so we can have Angus at lock and Isaac on the bench to counter NAS etc.

    Teddy
    Morris
    Manu
    Morris
    Toups
    Keary
    Flanagan

    Lui
    Cordner
    Crichton
    JWH
    Friend
    Tauks

    Lam
    Collins
    Sitili
    SBW

These seventeen players will win the premiership.

PS. Sorry Aubbo, you have been a great servant but now is no time for sentiment. PPS. Sorry Butch, just edged out by Sitili because he is bigger.

Very tough one to work out. If Friend plays do we need hooker cover on the bench? It's risky to not do so but I don't think you pick teams based on a potential injury to one player.

    Teddy
    Tupou
    Jmoz
    Manu
    Bmoz
    Keary
    Flanagan
    JWH
    Friend
    SST
    Cordner
    Crichton
    Liu

    Collins
    Butcher
    SBW
    Aubo

Tobin, you’ve been ditching Sitili from the team for a few days, what has changed? I like Sitili. He has stood up when others have fallen. His defence is improving and he hits the line at pace and will be making more breaks in the finals. What we saw last week, from everyone is not what we are. I’m not convinced that what happened on Friday was just an accident. We were not into it from the start.

I agree about Aubbo. He got his record but now he will have to fight it out with Butcher, and Nat is ahead of him with the defence in the middle.

I dont agrees about Lam. IMO he offers nothing better than Flanno. Flanno has has some great games in the last few month like the Storm game in Brisbane and Knights game. I cant recall a game where we have all hailed Lam, we’ll not since Adrian... As for a Jake backup, I would have Freddy. His defence is better than Lam. He did about 60+ tackles against the Raiders I think. He is a natural hooker with better passing than Jake and if needed he may be able to step in the halves. For 3 games at the top, he has shown a lot of guts. But at the end of the day it’s another piece for Robbo to juggle since he would be in my trio of who misses out with Aubbo & Butcher.

i'd have that starting 13 and sbw and collins on the bench. either jake's completely recovered from his head knock or he doesn't play so i wouldn't have lachie on the bench. it'd be 2 from aubo, butch and sitili and who robbo thinks would be best dh from the first 2 is a factor.

I really like Sitili though I think he has been down for a few weeks. It's been a long season for someone who has not been a regular NRL player before. Having said that, I would have him at right second row (with Angus at lock and Isaac on the bench) against any other side. Against Kikau I think we need Angus for his defence.

I would have Lam rather than Freddy because he can also cover halves.

Tell me what positions you want Aubbo to cover and I will give you players that can do it at least as well from my side.

We have plenty of cover in the back row. If need be Angus could do as good a job at centre as Aubbo.

I think our weakness is a couple of players in defence. One of them is Sitili. He is improving but that doesn't cut it for this time of the year. What he offers in attack is covered by others once we have a full strength team.

I agree with Maubs missing out. He is a club legend but is is far off his best. His defence has been very average this year. Many times too slow to get into position. Again not the time of year for sentiment.

If we have Flanno, Sitili and Maubs on the field we have too many holes to cover.

I agree with Tobin's team but would have Butcher in there ahead of Sitili solely on his much better defence.

whatever way robbo goes has risks and rewards and i agree aubo isn't a guaranteed choice.

Sitili will be good for a 30 minute stint. If he's on he can almost singlehandedly win you a game in that period.

It's a tough one with Aubo. He can cover several positions.

This is why Trent gets paid the big bucks I suppose. A win this week will justify his salary.

I’m with you Tommy that’s the Roosters most experienced team & I think Robbo will go with players that have been there & done that. I rate Sitilli big time but I think he will be this years Collins or Tetevano from previous years.

Sitili playing off the bench giving Angus a break from the right edge while SBW is on, its how they say ‘a mouthwatering’ option with Sonny giving Sitili one of his offloads. I can see many points in that. Remember that Manu and BMoz will also cover for Kyle. I feel Robbo has Sitili on his best 17 but wouldn’t surprise me if he gives him a week off either this week or the next depending on the opponent.

Ah ah ah Roc maybe you could give eVan a call & ask him what’s the best option for the team for this weekends game & also ask him if he was at the Sports Ground in rd 9 in 1976

Crichton has to start this week to sure up that right edge defence. Been one of our best the past month, Sitili is more of an impact player on the bench.

From fox league: Team Tips: Skipper Jake Friend has avoided a cheekbone fracture and is likely to play in the Roosters first final against Penrith if he can pass concussion protocols. “He seems alright actually today,” James Tedesco said of his captain on Sunday. “He seems really positive. I think it was more his cheekbone that he was worried about, but he’s got that all cleared. “He’s good, he was out doing some light running so that’s positive.” Rested stars Joey Manu, Lindsay Collins and Isaac Liu are all set to return to bolster the Roosters’ defence that was so easily dissected by the Rabbitohs.
