No opposition team will be hoping they meet us in the finals before the grand final.
Assuming the ladder stays as it is and we beat the Storm in Week 1, the prelim would be against Eels/Raiders/Sharks. Winner of 1v4 plays a prelim against the loser of 2v3/winner of 6/7.

yep. in a 3 horse race the winner of the 2v3 game has inside running to gf.

100%. Although Raiders in a prelim would make me nervous, that would be their grand final if they get there.

There are no easy paths to a premiership but some are easier than others. If we end up in 4th, beating the Panthers in Week 1 and Storm beating the Eels would mean a prelim against Eels/Souths/Knights, which is significantly easier than Panthers/Storm/Raiders.

Play Storm first, then win or lose if we play Penrith it will be with no second chance. More pressure on them. I reckon we can beat Melbourne, get a week off. Penrith should beat Parra. if we both win again then we don't meet them til the GF.

Panthers would be shellshocked if they played a decent team. They wouldn’t know what hit them it’s been that long.

I’d like to play the Panthers because 1) I can attend and 2) the team doesn’t have to travel all in one day.

I can’t see us losing to Souths so I think we will be playing Melbourne.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Morris bros rested this Friday. Give them a break to prepare for the big three matches coming up. Their old injury prone bodies could do with a freshen up. Also it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give Iku a bit of game time.

We can’t wrap them all in cotton wool but a week off for Keary and a run for Hutch may be a good thing too. Can’t see it happening.

Keep Freddy on the bench so Friend can play half a game only.

As it's been said tho, no easy road to the premiership, and robbo says every year the path is different.

I hope we are just too good.
I don’t think Melb will look at the two victories this year as revenge games. They would need to knock us out to get their revenge.

I think you will find that we are favourites for the comp not Penrith.

Agree , winning the main prize not the door prize is the revenge , but confident there are going to be a lot of disappointed fans and teams come GF day , but I don't believe it will be us

A difference between the best team (us) and the "favourites" (Penrith) note the inverted commas and the fact the eels are crap, they are too far gone for the fairytale, so now it's the Panthers.

Did you see the stroms post match celebration after the Brissy game? Like they'd won the comp. That, and the second game against them - like the first game against the raiders, total stitch ups in order to placate those two clubs for what we did the last two years.

I do agree technically the complete revenge would be to knock us out entirely. There is no love for us this year, I hope we can beat all and sundry again, we have the team that can do it.

                          GO EASTS

i reckon the Storm are our baitches nowadays in games that matter.

Penrith have that unknown quality about them, and dont play nervous, so are our remaining threat.

                                Prefer Storm in Queensland.
