I reckon the Roosters or Melbourne will sort Penrith out. To much inexperience in key positions like fullback & 5/8 to much inexperience in the centres & 1 wing. They havnt had to defend a side like the Chooks at full throttle.

I said it on another thread but the difference between the regular season and finals is vast. The regular season is about the grind, guts football. The finals are about nerve. I'll give Cleary this, he's got the players playing on guts. But I see coach Robinson and, yes, Bellyache, as nerve coaches. They get the players to become frayed nerves.

      That said,

        It is a tricky one.

Originally I would have preferred playing Penrith but, with the passage of time, I think I have changed my mind. We need to beat Melbourne at some stage anyway, so I think week one is probably the best time to do it. Penrith is more of an unknown quantity. At least with Melbourne we know what we are getting. On balance I think I'd prefer the Storm.
        MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Y'all crazy! I have never watched an Easts match, believing that we may lose. Ever. Fairweather fans here, pretending to be statistical analysts, you can spit out all of the crap about lies, damned lies, and the stats of the discombobulator that may pre-determine the likelihood of losing, according to the loser-hood of the 'like me-ness'. I don't favour or dis-favour any team that we meet in the finals because the best team is obviously capable of beating every other team. We are about to become the juggernaut of all NRL dynasties, comparable to no others (including the 74-75 team and the Dragons decadal dominance).

Easts know how to play the game, they play it hard and fair
Easts know how to win the game, they win more than their share
They’re great to see in action, these boys who show the way
Put the Roosters on the field, they’ll show you how to play.
