I didn't list liu as a back rower? We are talking about Angus and the position of second row where he plays and im just simply stating i think liu is better suited at prop / lock then at second row. Anyways, i think angus has been really good for us since mid last year, hes really fit in our culture well and i enjoy watching him play for us, before he got injured for us he was killing it.

The definition of second row (aka back row) is No.11 and No12 and they operate on a clearly defined side of the field.

With Lock you often have 'loose forward' style creative player like Bradley Clyde or Freddy Fittler, or what is ultimately a 3rd Prop like Issac Liu or Sam Burgess

Ball playing Locks are a rare species these days. A Lock these days has evolved to do a more similar job to a front rower than a second rower.

Absolute BS. Yes he does got better as a middle but he can run edge lines better than most

On Angus, he should be kept, he has finally turned into a great footballer instead of one trick pony. We have had to invest a lot of time into him to get the Souffs stench out and he is only going to get better

Yes thank you I know what a second rower is.

Lets just leave it at that then. Liu will not be moving to the backrow in replacement of angus so irrelevant on the main topic.. I will say his try on the weekend was a beauty tho.

Angus was close to our best player all season prior to his injury.

A workhorse and strong defender with a few weapons in attack. I hope he stays for many years to come.

I like the idea of Angus starting (once he is match for) and Sitili coming off the bench. Now that’s X-factor.

I hope we can sort something out for Angus, if the article is true (which I have my doubts about to be honest). He deserves an extension.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

All this talk of whether a player is a second rower or front rower ...I think all the positional names of the forwards should just be blown up and re-branded based on what they actually do on the field. Numbers 8 to 13 players get called a hooker, front rower, second rower or lock based on where they supposedly pack into a scrum, but have you seen who packs into where in a scrum. Its a total plate of spaghetti ...forwards are in the backs, backs are in the forwards, its like a first come first served at the breakdown.
As the modern day scrum is now a joke and has become moot, then time to rebrand the positional names for the No. 8 - 13 to what they actually do ...call them Dummy Half, Left Edge, Right Edge, Middle Forward ...anything really, but just something more meaningful.
                        ...End of rant !

I think most of the ones that needed an upgrade have got one except for Teddy, Sitili, Walker (?).
Surely that gives us a bit of change for Crichton. But I agree it will probably be for a little less than what he is on.
IMO it does and he's not on $850k... he was REPORTEDLY on $650k when we signed him and I remember him laughing that off, like 'hahaha yeah I wish I was earning that much'. I suspect he's on $400-500k and will either get offered that again (with Sitili moving up to that tier) or he'll get a modest upgrade if he can show us he's worth it.

While none of us have access to the Roosters' books, I think it's most likely that within the $10 million cap:
                          - Only Tedesco is on $1m a year... he is our marquee player
                          - Most of our top-tier players are on ~$500k. That's what SBW and Jenko were on in 2013. IMO that's the going rate. Teddy, Cords, Friend, JWH, Keary can't all be on $1 million. One or two max I reckon with the rest on ~$400-500k.
                          - Guys like B-Moz and J-Moz are almost paying us for a chance to play for their dad's club and have a shot at winning. Same with Flanno (wants the education). A lot of good players are on close to minimum wage (which is like ~$200k + free training with Robbo, Fitzy and Cronk). It's not a bad package!
                          - There's a few creative deals for the right people. For example Cronk got a $$$ degree (MBA in the USA that woulda been $$$). Also, we kept the car allowance for SBW so he's getting $250k for ~8 games plus a Bentley at ticket price (Uncle Nick would be one of the few persons in Australia who knows the ticket price and can access it... betcha it's like 1/4 of what you pay at the shop and if you rent, the cap only includes the rental price anyway).

it was written that his 3 year deal with the Chooks which ends in 2021 was 2.7 mill- Chooks were saying it was closer to 700k a season.
