And the stats show that the refs have favoured some teams for years whilst being less than favourable to the Roosters.

The Rabbits win penalty counts 8-2 and 11-3 every 2nd or 3rd week. We do it ever 2nd or 3rd year.

Facts. Stone cold statistical facts. Enough people have seen them to back me up.
    Yep.

About 2 years ago you posted a penalty count statistic that was jaw dropping. Would love to see an update on this.

      2008-2018.

But apparently there's nothing awry here and we are conspiracy nuts. I have worse stats too, incredibly...

      Will have to update it.

This year so far is -10.

Here are all the stats back to 1980.

there's a diff between a full on conspiracy and what you might call the unconscious bias of refs. i don't think there's a conspiracy but with those sorts of numbers there's clearly something going on.

Exactly. I think the "conspiracy" angle is a word used by those trying to belittle people who simply ask why there are anomalies.

I had the opportunity a couple of years ago to ask Robbo himself about the kind of stats Tommy has presented (for the umpteenth time) above. He and the club are well aware of them. He was of the view, similar to mine and yours and others on here, that it's a case of unconscious bias against a club perceived to be glamorous and successful. The help the underdog mentality.

I agree that in general the tough time we have received by officials in many seasons has served to battle harden us and helped us in the long run come finals time when penalties tend to dry up for both sides (2014 prelim a notable exception when Cummins managed Souffs back into game).

It's funny, because the stats are so damning that they would support a real conspiracy theory, LOL!

That was so obvious but it wasn't even mentioned in any commentary during or after the game. Every time Souths dropped the ball it was a penalty. Every time they were struggling getting out of their 20m we were offside. I hate that game more then any other

too much of this surrender and dominant tackle- refs seem to take an eternity to call held and in some games the players momentum is stopped but they don't called held and they get a late offload away still- the third defender is causing an issue too

Absolutely spot on. My sentiments are the same as yours and zac.

I've never seriously suggested that there's a massive conspiracy to punish the Roosters. But rather a blatantly obvious subconscious that hurts the "glamorous latte sippers" and helps the "battlers from Redfern".

rewatch the 2013 gf where we got away with a lot. the roosters play close to the edge, very close, opposition fans think we wrestle and hold down to much . the coach accepts this and coaches it and encourages, this in turn ensure our players don't make excuses . now can everyone grow a pair and move on and stop blaming refs...if we lose its because we didn't play better then the opposition. stop being A pack of weak carts, robbo doesn't blame the refs only weirdos on this forum do. toughen up.

It's funny you say that though Tommy because although I am not a great fan of the PL (soccer) here in the UK, it's kind of the other way around where a 'glamour' club like Man Utd get a lot of split decisions go their way against the smaller clubs.

The stats don't lie but apart from a ref bias, it's probably fair to say that there is a strong supporter bias going as well. You can go to any forum and there are threads moaning about all the bad calls that their team has had.

I reckon Souths should be sponsored by Centrelink with the amount of handouts they get (players and fans alike) Might as well earn the hate!

What a well thought out post that was, you really are very persuasive. And butch sounding.

As I mentioned, The roosters coach told me personally he and the club are quite aware this bias goes on. Life goes on however for him and me too! He's not a "weak carnt', nor am I or any of the other posters here just because they disobey your directive to grow a pair.

You're the one that sounds unhinged for getting upset that other posters wish to discuss anomalies that are based on statistics that are way beyond random variation. Why does it upset you we discuss it. Is our questioning it going to make the club and team softer and not turn up because they are making excuses?

Next time consider thinking before you resort to name calling. Actually, do the hell what you like. As will I.

Our form, regardless of players out, has been quite poor, and we’ve struggled against teams that are being thrashed by other sides. Our defense is leaking way too many soft tries too. I expect the Broncos to use the upcoming game to try to make a huge statement and go all out to beat us. We almost let the tigers back in. So Trent would be very unhappy about our form , especially now our 4th spot is not secure. I wouldn’t be underestimating the broncos at all. They will be out to cause a major upset.
