that wasn't my take away from the presser at all. as always robbo was calm and in control.

yeah he said losing 3 backs to lower leg injuries was frustrating. fair comment. not the same thing as him needing a break or anything.

i thought maybe robbo wasn't happy with the tackle but then checked himself and didn't want to go down that rabbit hole.

I was hoping he'd plant that seed. Those 3rd man tackles are leg breakers

My understanding is that he wasn’t happy with the teams performance. He seemed very unimpressed with our letting them back in which should never have happened. I think deep down he was very upset at the 6 agains because he mentioned that they had a 70-30 possession rate for a while and we took too long to take back momentum. The ref is the one who gave them all that possession. We didn’t get a fair go in penalties and 6 agains. Again, biased game management by the ref.

This is sort of the 2nd generation of it, this is the slide down tackle.....referees simply need to call held much earlier and penalize the tackler if they bring the player in possession to the ground after the call. We must be close to 20 weight on ankle injuries across the comp this season, most avoidable if the rules were actually followed. (the instant forward momentum is lost a player is held according to the rules - apply as written, it's a great rule!)

If you love the game, you put up with this crap as a fan but the inconsistencies are enough to frustrate anybody.

Beginning of second half in our game and we are 20-0 up and they are lying all over us in the tackle getting up slowly. Not 1 repeat set that I can remember.
Then down the other end once the Tigers get a bit of ball and it's a 6 again bonanza. At one stage, there was about 3 in a couple of minutes just so they could score.
The rules should apply fairly across the board whether you are 20-0 up or behind. No wonder the integrity of the game comes into question and I kind of feel sorry for Cleary now because he is only stating what we can all see with our own eyes and he cops a 20k fine for it.

Anyone watching last nights Souths v Manly game and Souths were tearing Manly a new one and they kept getting repeat sets at will. We would have never got that when commanding a game. The points differentials could be crucial come the end of the season and this crap has to stop. One coach coming out after a game and having a whinge is a sitting duck. It would take half a dozen or so to get together and have a right go at the administrators and demand action but I suppose that's a bit of pie in the sky thinking because it probably won't happen.

All this crap hasn't stopped us the last few years because we were so far ahead but it's a bit more of a level playing field now and we could certainly get bundled out by a few rough calls the way things are playing out now.

Great post, the league will never evolve for the better whilst certain teams and players get the royal treatment. The stench of sports betting hanging over the game and the outrageously obvious bias and manipulation that goes on in games.

Exactly we have won the last two comps what you mentioned is spot on add to that all those so called supporters that start useless threads about getting rolled by everyone, every week that is really annoying we are the most successful team of the modern era gunning for a threepeat the bar has been set so high we are a victim of own success it can’t be won every week and every year we have had a fair shake come finals the last two years running the same will apply again the six agains and penalties will disappear come the business end, we basically wrap up a top 8 spot next week with a victory and another finals series, unfortunately it’s just not good enough for some being a top 4 team with a depleted roster is a huge achievement hopefully we wrap up 4th spot in the next 2 weeks.

Gee, thanks for the wrap Thirteen. I did attempt to explain that one previously but you seem intent on returning to the well regardless. It was merely an attempt at humour that clearly fell flat.

Again, yes it was an outlandish proposition. So much so that I didn't think anyone would be silly enough to take it seriously. Apologies for getting that wrong.


I get that you and others don't, but I find members posts, queries and opinions regarding officiating to be as valid as any other Rooster related thoughts on the game. Like others on here I find it an interesting aspect of the game (not just Rooster games) to consider why a Referee ignores a blatant offside for one team and seconds later blows a penalty to their opposition for the same infringement. Similarly, why one team receives a "6 again" when in like situation their opponents do not or how certain sides discipline can seemingly see saw so dramatically from week to week and so on and so on. If these thoughts make me some sort of inferior Roosters supporter or lesser Rugby League fan so be it.

Also, I like the fact that Robbo doesn't question or blame the Referees publicly, but rightly or wrongly their have been a number of coaches lately (and not just losing ones) who have queried the possible "management' of games by officials so its hardly a train of thought reserved for Roosters Conspiracy Theorists.
