He's happy when our players get picked for Origin even though they could get injured.

He wants to grow RL generally and not just Easts so he has pressers, signings, exposure to media and fans for both players and himself. Many other coaches would not be so generous.

He'd make a fantastic NRL CEO and they can have him after he wins 2 more premierships with us.
a lot of people say that. i hope it doesn't happen. i hope he stays with us until he's coaching sam walker's kids.

hypothetically, would he be a good nrl ceo? on the plus side he's a genuine league lover, works well with other people and has the interests of the game at heart etc. on the neg side, being the nrl ceo and being a coach are two very different jobs. maybe it wouldn't be as good a fit as some think.

In the 53 years Ive been alive & going for the Chooks the club has never had so much spirit & passion for the Easts jumper. Robbo has come in there & turned the sleeping giants into a proper run Rugby League team. Im just so glad that he has come along in my life time, I just wish my dad could have been around for this golden era. The Roosters did the 3peat in the 30's & if anyone can make that happen again its Trent Robinson.
Ive been to watch them train a few times Tommy & Ive approached Robbo & he is the easiest man to talk to. Im a complete stranger to him & he spoke to me like a friend.
      Love it.

Trent is my all time favourite Rooster. He's a genuinely inspiring individual and is more than a footy coach; a life coach really.

I hope he's here as coach for 25 years and then Chairman for another 10 years.

True. But out of the current coaches, he would be most likely. Can you imagine Bellamy, Hasler or Bennett as CEO? Can’t picture it. I can with Robbo though.

robbo's a cut above. if there were no time constraints he'd be capable of being a fair nrl ceo while being our coach.

Robbo recruits on character as much as talent and I think that's the balance Johns was talking about Monday night. That's why we won't see a Dugan or a Cartright or a Mitchell at the club, if their character doesn't fit the club then they won't fit the club. Talent can always be improved, it's much harder to change one's character.

            Chook.

They can have him after he breaks Saints record of 11 in a row.

Matthew Johns is a great commentator on the game. I barely watch him cause he is usually acting the idiot but when he is serious he is a cut above.

I agree Thirteen - he actually is a good football mind and analyst. I don't watch his live show, but am just starting to watch his podcast series. That is better. He was very impressive one night recently when he was on NRL 360. He just needs to stop spending so much time acting a goat with Fletcher and Hindmarsh, but I get that he does it for ratings etc.

In terms of Robbo, I don't need to reiterate anything there. He is destined for greatness in rugby league coaching terms. Unbelievable.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
