There were times on Thursday night where it reminded me of 2002-4 and our swarming defence.

The Dragons would be crazy not to throw the farm at him.

Like all great coaches he has the ability to get the most out of his players and inspire even the less talented ones to do a role successfully for the benefit of a team.
The team strengths are based on defence and stamina and never giving up much the same as Jack Gibson coached teams were.
Gibbo took our side from not winning a game to the semis the following year a remarkable achievement. He went to Newtown and brought them up the ladder and took saints to a grand final before winning comps with us and Parra.
I find a lot of similarity between the two , both were front rowers with limited ability but got the most out of themselves and when they speak people listen. Both have been innovators in the game and not only try to improve their teams but the game itself and look to genuinely care about the players.
I do get annoyed that people don't give Robbo the credit he deserves for the coach he is. He never gets the wraps of a Bennett or Bellamy but for mine we are blessed and is the best in the game and long may he reign at the head of the roosters.

I'm hearing there is a player rift at the Dragons and it boiled over in an opposed training session. Debelin broke Adam Clune's nose with a reckless shot and Vaughn stepped in and had a blow up with Debelin. It's been brewing for sometime now and involves other players and centres around someone breaking the, what happens on tour stays on tour law....

I dont think they need to throw the farm at him to get him. If he is offered the head coaching job at the Dragons he will take with Robbo, Nick & the Roosters blessing.

I listened to a podcast interview with Fitzy, talkin with tk .. and I think he said something about being ok as an assistant and perhaps not wanting the stress of a full time gig.

The Fox post match coverage of the game tonight spent most of its time lauding and analysing the coaching of Robbo and attributing our success to his coaching.
