    For minor penalties I agree
I like the idea of the rule change in principle, however comp should be reset for 18 rounds
Interesting to see how this rule changes game

A player making a break gets tackled by cover defenders ,is slowed down from making a quick play the ball. Will this be deemed a professional foul resulting in 10 in the bin or does the the new rule apply?

Should not change, 10 minutes for professional foul

Bennett coaches his teams to stay down playing for penalties so I can see many calls going Souffs way. They will lead the stats in getting this call in their favour.

            Which begs the question:

Why aren't we doing the 'same' thing?
Why, if our players are whacked in the head/jaw/neck/back illegally aren't they staying down and making the officials look at it?

because we're a team of integrity. end result is we've won the last 2 premierships, and being a constant threat bar 2016, somebody has to defend the fabric of rugby league. thats the roosters, and I'm damn proud of it. robbo is a true rugby league man, and coaches his team that way, but do not think for a second that because we play with integrity we aren't as tough or tougher then the rest.
I personally would be disgusted if I started seeing roosters player taking dives, staying down to win penalties, the good thing is that we don't and we still win more often then not. win/win .

But my mates say that the Roosters are cheaters with grubs like JWH? But anyways the Roosters are a team with class, no wrestling like Melbourne and don't need to result to using dirty tactics to win. The new changes in the rules will be difficult to adjust to although the team is good enough to not worry about the rule changes. Robbo will lead like he usully does and the rule changes will be like if none of the rules changed.

I get sick of other fans saying that we are bad with wrestling tactics. I know Melbourne are, but I don't think we are. As mentioned before, we are a team of integrity. The rule changes, while I think are okay, should not be happening now. It should have been left to sort out during the next off and pre seasons, if there was a strong appetite for change. I am not convinced that there is or ever has been.
                    MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Will this rule actually benefit the attacking side:

                      Pros
                      * Less time for opposition to prepare defence

                      Cons
                      * Assuming referees police the game the same then 2 points or kicks to sideline wont be on offer.

                      Other
On tackle 0 or 1 this rule is not a big advantage which could benefit the defending side how:
*Keeping a side pinned in there own 10 metres after a kick downfield and conceding 6 again on first tackle

Nah nah of course not we dont want to get aggressive & hurt the opposition we want to play soft, play nicely so the opposition can pull our pants down & jackhammer our little arses?
If your not winning the wrestle/ruck then you dont win games & if your not playing dirty then you dont win comps.
JWH is a grub but he's our grub & we need him.

I agree with what ya saying Mickie although I wasn't meaning playing soft. Obivously you need to play aggressive in the ruck but that's just half the job. You need ya backline also to play with that same intensity. What's the point in winning the ruck when you can't do anything without that field position.
