How was bargarse allowed to stay on the field in their 2014 GF win? One rule for Souffs, another for us.Originally posted by Rooster1908 View Post
He's a protected species , just like the rest of the vermin , Walker , Inglis , Latrine , Bargass , and now Skeletor , nothing ever happens to them

Sam Burgess is a bigger loss for Souffs than Cooper is for us.Originally posted by Rooster_Nomad_#111 View PostGenerally when clubs have a lot of dramas a bad season will usually follow. Given Souffs problems over the past months and their loss of players I predict a very poor season from these deadbeats.
Not only is he arguably the greatest middle forward I've seen but he was the leader of their club - he set the tone with his work ethic and on field intensity. They have no one to fill that void.
We at least have half a dozen great leaders who will continue the standard that Cooper Cronk set.
So yes, Souffs are farked.

yeah, hard not to bring off field drama onto the field. but there's sometimes the exception such as 95 when the dogs came from sixth to win the comp despite having a lot of players that were affected by the super league war.Originally posted by Rooster_Nomad_#111 View PostGenerally when clubs have a lot of dramas a bad season will usually follow. The big difference though is that Bulldogs team was brimming with experience and leadership. Price, Ryan, the Hughes brothers, Pattern, El Masri, Sherwin. This Souffs team has... Cook? Reynolds? Oh dear...Originally posted by Headless Chook View Post

Indeed this current Scabs squad is as devoid of leadership following the consecutive retirements of GI, Sam, and Sutton as any so called contender you're likely to see.
I think they'll struggle to make the top 8 tbh, having given them a bit more hope in the pre season.

Because he is one tough mofo & when did one of our forwards get smashed in the first tackle of a GF & break his cheekbone & get taken off?Originally posted by Rooster_Nomad_#111 View Post

They play to the same rules as everyone else so stop trying to make out that Souths get preferential treatment.
There was nothing better that day in 2014 then to see a bloke play on after breaking his cheekbone in the first tackle. People might hate Sam on here but he was champion player with a massive heart.

I agree he is a tough mofo. No doubt. Regarding the 2014 GF, there were rules in place regarding head injuries and concussions at the time. Under those rules he should not have been allowed to continue. Back when Freddy got smashed in the GF against the Warriors there were no such protocols in place. Burgess was tough, but he was a filthy grub playing for a team of scabs (shout out to Tommy Smith for reintroducing the terms scabs to my vocabulary).Originally posted by Mickie Lane View Post
