  • So, is this the start of a fresh start for rugby league?

With the possibility of no league this year, and many clubs not being able to survive, is this the chance to restructure rugby league?

who would you cut/merge for maybe a 14 league super comp.

    I’d have:

    Newcastle
    central coast sea eagles
    north Sydney bears
    sydney roosters
    southern Sydney(Souths/sharks/dragons)
    western Sydney (dogs,tigers,Penrith)
    parramatta
    melbourne
    brisbane
    north Brisbane
    raiders
    north qld
    NZ
    Pacific crusaders (PNG/Fiji/Tonga/Samoa)

obviously bias based, titans cut, and I still see no need for an Adelaide or Perth team.

What it definitely is going to be is the end of the big money contracts. That bribe John Grant slung the clubs to stay in his job is now null and void. And any club that can't stand on its own two feet (Sturm, Tits, Soufs) is finished and done.

No chance they are on the same financial level as the Chooks. The Roosters & Souths will be the last 2 standing, Packer has deep pockets.

                      Cannot stand mergers.
                      I’d rather relocate.

This virus might do what super league wanted to do and see the demise of some of the old Sydney clubs which would be a great shame. Hoping we can lockdown and get over this without too much damage being done.

Come on JT you gotta have Souths in it otherwise the Chookpen would be like a ghost town. There would be no more lol@souffs threads.

I think a 12 team comp would be the go.

The players who set themselves up for life between the Superleague war and now should consider themselves blessed.

Looks like we start again...chook raffles,
players training on Tues nights only, having worked all day at their fulltime jobs.
Marketing done with small ads in the local paper and an occasional short ad on tv.
