    My thoughts:
    - We've made a net loss. Latrell and Cronk are way better than Flanno and Smith. However, we retained our enforcers + spine.
    - Melbourne and Canberra are about the same without really losing anybody. I have questions about whether Canberra are the real deal. Melbourne won the minor premiership by too much to ignore last year though (frankly, with a depleted, developing roster too).
    - Souffs - even if Arrow's released early, they haven't really made a net talent gain. Burgess is way better than Arrow. Sure, Latrell's better than a broken/depressed GI. However, They're looking to offload Gagai and Doueihi. Net loss IMO! Also I reckon they've outsmarted themselves by doing the dodge to offload Burgess. He had a good 5 years left in him.
    - With a few less injuries and a bit more consistency, Manly could go somewhere. They are largely unchanged. Same with Cronulla... all depends. Also depends on teams below them staying cr@p.
    - The other teams lacked enough 2019 form/consistency to go anywhere. Some will lift in 2020 but I haven't been following their recruitment or strategies closely enough as they are not my club.

    ---

    Prediction:
    1. Melbourne (with a massive push from all angles for Smith to go out as a champ... last year they were a 2013 Souths).
    2. Souffs. Net loss but it also resulted in us having a net loss.
    3. Manly. They'll fix up Brookie + Trbo's and DCE will fire.
    4. Raiders. They didn't ban the strip so it'll continue. It'll hurt us more because we're without Latrell's 1% tries and Cronk's constant cool head under pressure of such BS.
    5. Roosters. The net loss will hurt us and it'll be a re-building year but we will still do alright I reckon.

Souths looking to offload Doueihi? How do you know this. He is a great prospect. Very versatile. I’d take him in a heartbeat as long as we could wash the Souths off of him.

Long Tall Sally has told him to look around. Tigers very keen and not short of dough.

In 2018 the Dragons were one silly error away from meeting us in the prelim. Last year for them was a little like 2016 for us. I wouldn't be writing them off as a wooden spoon contender.

I’m surprised I think he is an excellent player and his versatility makes him very valuable. In the semis last year he was excellent at fullback.

He’s another Tigers junior that was let go. Lol@Tigpies

I rate him too, goes hard and runs without fear and self preservation.

Given that we're already training in jerseys and the lack of frivolity on the faces of the players, I'd say the only threat to us doing a three peat is us. I like the intensity they are doing things in, it looks like we are starting fast in 2020.

My only real concern is Robbo, did he eat his way down Kilimanjaro?

                Chook.

I’m not disputing your post Jack but I’m wondering where you heard that?
Ive heard the media say that Souths are shopping Gagai & Johnson around but I haven’t heard anything on Doueihi. He’s better than Gagai & Johnson.

I forgot to mention the good ol Broncos. They will be in the 8 100%. They can win the comp this year. Don’t laugh they are a quality side.

Flanagan is wearing the jersey, with Lam in the shirt.

Also Keary in the cottonwool red vest

SMH was the source I think. And they never stretch the truth. Apparently Farah has been trying to get him back there with the Lebanese connection.

Who knows though...Souths seem kissed by a fairy with recruitment lately, could still find a way.

                          Hmmm...

They lost 58 nil in their last finals match There's along way from that to winning the comp in 1 year.

Who have they added since that flogging? ... Brodie Croft.

I know they have some awesome young forwards but that's mainly with ball in hand. They haven't shown the ability to defend yet.

Also spines win comps. And Isaako, Milford, Croft, McCullogh/Turpin is amongst the worst in the league.

They have the potential to catch fire with the freakish talent they have; but the dearth of quality in key positions won't cut it in the big end of season games imo.

They will definitely make the top 8 though I agree on that.

Wrong coach at the moment. When he goes they might.

From what i can see based on the current climate (in no particular order)

                              CONTENDERS:
                              Sea eagles
                              Roosters
                              Storm
                              Eels
                              Vermin
                              Raiders
                              Knights
                              Broncos

                              PRETENDERS:
                              the Tits
                              Cowboys
                              Sharks
                              Tigers
                              Warriors
                              Dragqueens
                              Bulldogs
Panthers (my prediction for the spoon. Their squad looks atrocious this year. Cleary senior is lucky he has a further 4 years on his contract, because i have a feeling both himself and Cleary junior will get savaged this year)

Forgot to mention Panthers' failure last year was also predictable even though heaps of 'experts' were predicting big things. They weren't in my Eight. There was no guarantee father and son combination was going to do well...more likely to cause issues, especially with Maloney and Cleary not working well together.

From foxsports.. Wayne Bennett tells young gun to look for new club as Latrell’s arrival creates backline logjam

Latrell Mitchell’s arrival at Redfern is reportedly set to force talented youngster Adam Doueihi out of the club.
