I was told by my brother that Brian the old Rooster supporter (Chook head beanie) died today. He said it was on twitter.
    RIP Brian.
I thought about starting a thread on it but I thought 1 death thread was enough.

      Farking cancer claims another one!

Was the original "Mal Meninga type" of player before Big Mal.
Was like having a forward in the backline.
Absolute machine on the field. Absolute gentleman off the field.

      Extremely sad news.
      RIP

Sad if true. Greenberg tweeted about the death of Brian James (a former Kangaroo, not our Brian), maybe there's a mix up.

Mickie if it is Brian he is one of our most prominent and loyal supporters going well back into the 70’s and led the Chookpen for many years. I think it would be a nice gesture to pay respect to him and his family acknowledge him on this forum..

Hopefully, 'head chook' Brian is still okay but, if not, my best wishes go out to his family. It would be nice if we could find out about him somehow, one way or the other.
              MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Yes, I have, and I just checked it back to late October. There is nothing on there. Now, either I have missed it (which, while possible, I don't think I have), or the tweet has since been removed, but I doubt that to be the case as well. Perhaps it was sent out via a non-official Roosters feed. I only looked at the official one. Anyway, I am sure we will find out eventually. Someone on here would know him fairly well, I would have thought.

Sorry if I wasn't clear Mickie. I was suggesting if it was Brian (Roosters Fan), that had died that a thread would be good. It appears it may be that it isn't the case.

I totally agree with you now in hindsight but I just wish we could get some clarification on it. Surely someone on here knows Brian?

I got Mark Harris's autograph at the SCG when I was a kid in the 70's. Must have been a St George vs Roosters game , my dad was a Dragons supporter , the rest of my family follow Soufs , I'm the black sheep ")
I remember looking up at him with his flat nose , I thought he was a giant.
The Roosters players were all around the ground before kick off signing autographs , of course everyone was looking for Russel Fairfax , kept asking Mark Harris " where is Russel"
I became a Rooster that day and now I bleed red white and blue. Probably due to that autograph , he became my favorite player of all time.
