Latrell wasn't rejected by anyone as a junior coming through. He went to the Central coast to start due to a family friend who they knew would look after him. He then progressed into the Roosters via that same family friend. His dad wanted him looked after because he wasn't when he came down to Sydney under $ouff$

not sure what latrell owes us other than finishing his contract, which he seems to have every intention to do if the club lets him, after that, he is entitled to look for an upgrade, no hard feelings from my end, as we have caused the same hurt to other clubs that he is causing some of our fans now, for a very long time now.
Everyone seems to forget that league is a business, and if we didn’t run it like one, we would still have the likes of Pearce and co here, with 2 less premierships to show for loyalty, fans are happy enough when the club shafts players, but not happy when a player shafts the club.

Smith
Age 20
Height 191cm
Weight 99kgs
Lats
Age 22
Height 193cm
Weight 102kgs
Almost identical considering Smith is about to put in a whole pre season I imagine he will add some more size has pace has shown he can break tackles and found the line in both his starts this year vs Dragons and Souths his defence is suspect and not through not trying it’s an attitude he needs to learn and will do he’s switched on, however we all know Latrell has the lapses in D also I know every team has grubby players but some of the rubbish Lats dishes up can cost us games thankfully the resilience of our great team has been able to deal with his stupid football and he is never switched on for the entirety of a game Smith doesn’t have this in his game, but he wouldn’t kick a field goal in golden point to win a match to offset this I believe with some work Smith can bring consistency, work ethic, concentration and footy smarts to our team, give him 1-2 full seasons he will be a top flight centre I’m confident he will be able develop a great passing game has the Joey Manu extender arms so offloads seem like they would be a natural skill to his game can he do the freakish things Lats can perhaps not but if he puts in week in week out we have other brilliant players in our team to compensate give him some time.

In any case i think this thread is pretty dramatic. The media have hyped it up because of the way its panned out.....and Latrell is a superstar....but it hasn't ruined my off season- i keep thinking of the supporters of other teams burning because the only team they didn't want to win it in 2019 was the Chooks. Suffffffaaarrrr!!!
I'd love for Latrell to stay- my kids ask everyday about what he is doing next year- but i don't give a shit where he goes if he leaves and nor do i care if he has success there or not. Im just looking forward to 2020 and how we perform without Cronk. Counting the days till March kick off!!!

Interesting to see what effect the Latrell talk will have on the team. Not much, you'd figure. Unlike us, those guys aren't refreshing the chookpen website every hour to see if there's anything new.
Losing Latrell, different story, that won't be easy, but the media shitstorm is happening in a teacup.

In the interview Lats said he was the best centre in the game and perfected his role. He was after a challenge. He will be an embarrassment to him self as a fullback. Uncle nik spoke to wests to take him but im sure uncle nik wont be rining souffs to take him.
all the best to Lats. Bye bye. As i feel if he stays for 2020 it will be detromental to our teams developments.

actually sorry Eddie and Random you are def right about the Bulldogs and maybe the knights too ...
But a few clubs wanted him and the thing that was important to his father was a club that would look after him, not leave him sleeping on Maroubra beach like Souths didThe Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid
