nup. I’m just going to layer up. Had to go and drop $350 on some ne jackets, scarves and beanies for the kids this morning tho.

If if anyone is needing some gear when they get here, Jerseys megastore at Fyshwick has everything you need and some other things in the area just for Thirteen!

            • Glad to get the win in the capital today. Been a while between drinks there.

Now to watch the Cheats and Vermin destroy each other. Wonder which NRL golden boy will get the chocolates? Smiff or Burgarse?

Yeah I parked in a street a little bit back from the stadium, decked my car up with Roosters gear, slipped out and then did a victory lap around the block past all the queued up Raiders fans

                      .

its funny, I never really had trouble getting out of the car park there before but today was car keys straight in the ignition, drove straight out of the gate with no queuing, it was great. There was a Rooster supporter giving a Raider supporters a bit of curry in front of us on Belconnen Way, it was all light hearted and funny to see.

                      • Probably too late now but if you're heading home tonight, duck into the paragon at Goulburn and grab one of their massive pizzas.

LOL yeah I had some good banter going on with the surrounding Raiders fans in my bay. It made a pretty good atmosphere because there were heaps of light hearted jokes exchanged throughout the game but nobody got too worked up.

Afterwards a guy I'd been exchanging banter with came and shook my hand + said 'great banter mate, congrats on the win'. I then waited about a minute after he's left and went [COOOOOCK-A-DOOOODLLLLLE DOOOOOOO] multiple times while walking out. Figure it's my only weapon against the Raiders' drum and horn.

It wasn’t for us. We hung around after to get out on the field and got stuck exiting the carpark. If you left directly after full time, you would have been sweet but masses seemed to exit about 30 mins after full time as they hung around on the pitch. It’s the first time ever it’s taken me more than 5 mins to get out of there.

yep, had the same in bay 52. Supporters from both sides very respectful and polite to one another. Even during the push and shove on the field after the game. No one went overboard. It was great afternoon and the weather wasn’t too unbearable either.

Just on a side note. Was a little disappointed in JWH after the game. I know we don’t own players and they don’t have to hang around after a game but he was meeting some fans on the western side on his way out. We were already on the field and my son was waiting patiently to just get a quick pic with him on his way off the field. Just as he was wrapping up, I asked Jared for a quick pic my son but he said he had to go and simply shook his head and walked off.

I respect he had to get back to the sheds but it was a little disappointing to have my son wait for his opportunity to meet one of his hero’s only to be brushed off so easily. Poor bugger had gone out in the morning and spent $150 of his saved up pocket money on a new jacket, beanie and throw blanket so it was a somewhat sad ending to what was otherwise a good afternoon.

On the other hand, my wife has poisoned my youngest into being a Raiders fan and they were so accommodating of him. Chatting with him, signing his jacket and taking pics with him even after losing the game.

Im not speaking badly of Jared or talking up the Raiders but the approach was very different and hard for a young fella to understand.

It’s great when you can have some lighthearted banter between fans. Bay 14 in the western Stand there was a good mix or both Raiders and Roosters fans. Went to the Kingston pub for drinks and dinner, a few Roosters supporters there too, the last couple of times I have been down for the Canberra game have gone back home on the Monday and have had breakfast or lunch at the Paragon, going home via the coast tomorrow, never driven across to Batemans Bay from Canberra before, looking forward to checking out Braidwood., staying with friends at Mollymook overnight and back to Sydney Tuesday.
