Nate Myles re-signs for three years
    Monday, June 15, 2009

Nate Myles has today re-signed with the Sydney Roosters for another 3 seasons keeping him with the tr-colours until at least the end of 2012.

Myles signature comes at a crucial time for the Club and is an important element in the ongoing recruitment policy of retaining good quality young players.

Nate, 23, joined the Roosters in 2007 and has been a regular first grader and Queensland Origin player over the past three years.

Recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan says Nate’s signature was a key component for the club’s plans moving forward.

“Nate has been playing great football and at 23 will be at the peak of his powers in the years ahead,” said O’Sullivan.

“He is an important member of our squad and a foundation to build our forward pack on. We look for Nate to provide on and off field leadership now that he is considered one of our senior players with considerable rep football experience.”

Nate fronted a press conference this afternoon and expressed his happiness at finalising the deal.

“It’s a big decision to sign for three years but I’m happy and I think it’s a great club to be at,” said Myles.

“I’m looking forward to being around here for the next couple of years.”

Not sure if anyone has seen this - from the Roosters main page.

    Great news!!

What a relief, I had resigned myself to the possibility of the Roosters losing him to the cowgirls.
Please let this be just the beginning of changes that will see the Roosters follow the example set this year by the team that they have bought far too many players from recently.

Because we currently have a strong pack.. Yet have rarely dominated.. Only a few years ago maybe as recently as last year a strong pack meant guarenteed success - Its funny how things have changed alot in the last couple of years in terms of how the game is played..

Great news the figures flying about are a $1.1 million deal for 3 years.. Before anyone is critical, he is one player that does deserve the big money especially compared to Mason & Omeley with the effort and desire he shows..

Its still a good pack for 2010:

                  8. Myles
                  10. Omeley
                  11. Mason
                  12. Sa
                  13. Anasta
                  14. FPN
                  15. Cherrington
                  16. Kouparitsas

We supposedly had a good pack in 2009 as well.

Just shows that reputation means fark all if you don't put the form on the board.

I'm not convinced about our pack for 2010 either. Plenty of style but no substance - and more than a few are known to be tackle shy as well.

There must be a reason why we signed him at the expense of the Shack There has to be a good bloody reason

I agree Symonds has been impressive & if it were up to me I would punt Kouparitsas NOW, and spend his money on a centre/wing

On another note I would have to say Myles has the best tackling technique I have seen for ages.. I never saw Gillmeister but some of our old enough fans see a likeness..

The under 10 Bondi United winger is paid about the same as Kouparitsas...

                              Bring him up..??
