      The way I look at it you've got a bottom line of ~$10 million for 30 players and the minimum wage is ~$120k. Once you've paid Cronk $1 million and Teddy $1 million, you've got $8 million for 28 players.

      - If Karl Marx was running the books, every other player would earn $285k a year.
      - At least 2 players will be on ~$500k a year.
      - At $7 million for 26 players your average goes down to $270k per player.

      IMO you can only get that average wage down before you start being unable to afford a high quality top-17. $10 million isn't THAT much to share amongst 30 NRL players so any cap relief you can get adds up big time.
