We can consign ourselves to mediocrity in Braith, or go all or nothing with Toddy, hoping for a 2010 repeat, but risking a pub team that gets belted and wins the wood.

    Take your pick.
Personally I would opt for nothing and nothing if I had the choice.. I don't like the "all or nothing" odds that you get with Carney and I certainly don't like the "next to nothing" you get with Anasta.

      ...Rumours of more Rooster boozers
      Josh Massoud
From: The Daily Telegraph August 18, 2011 12:00AM

ROOSTERS CEO Steve Noyce will rely on his players' honesty to determine if disturbing reports of three more stars breaking a drinking ban are correct.
Rugby League Week yesterday claimed suspended trio Todd Carney, Nate Myles and Frank-Paul Nuuausala weren't alone in betraying their teammates last week.

According to a club insider, the transgressors are preparing to allege that three more Roosters went out drinking on the same night - but escaped punishment because they weren't photographed.

It's understood there were no other players with Carney, Myles and Nuuausala last Monday night. The honesty session that stood the trio down last Wednesday featured input from every Roosters player, all of whom were given the chance to own up.

But Noyce last night said none had come forward with any confessions.

"I spoke to the players when it all happened," Noyce said. "There was no indication of anything else.

"We'll just wait and see if any of the players come in (today) and have something to say.

"All we've got is a story in Rugby League Week. There's no other evidence."

The fate of Carney, Myles and Nuuausala won't be known until they front the club's board next week.

But while Nuuausala played reserve grade last weekend, it's certain Carney and Myles won't return this year.

The club is split over whether to retain Carney, who has exasperated coach Brian Smith, but enjoys personal support from all-powerful Roosters chairman Nick Politis.

I think those people are entitled to their opinion and if they want to make it public it is a matter for them.

But this has nothing to do with Braith - yet you want to blame him for it.

You also want to blame the drinking ban.

How about you blame the real culprits?

        Carney
        Miles
        Nuuasala

You mean the super coach who put him at fullback to try and humiliate him?

And he played there too - without complaint - which would seem to mean that alleged quote you have pulled from somewhere is incorrect.

Just like he played in the forwards last season for the benefit of the team.

Maybe Freddy is a liar like the rest of the team who a pretending they didn't have a drink during the ban.

So we almost certainly have another three players involved, as well as allegations another two players drank wine at a dinner, yet our CEO doesn't see fit to investigate. It seems violating the drinking ban itself does not matter, nor does the violation of team trust. The only thing that matters is if you get caught by the media.

Anyone who believes the remaining players didn't have a drink because they are all about team trust is a naive fool.

              It isn't about the ban.

It is about trust and respect in a team environment.

              It's all about the ban.

No ban, no problem...it all could've been handled in house.

Now breach notices have been issued.

              Talk about self-destruction!

It's not Braith's fault...but the club should never have agreed to the ban.

Alcohol ban is indeed that one glass of wine or one beer at a restaurant with family...is a breach.

The other players who breached the ban must also be named and issued with breach notices.

regardless of the ban, to me its more about 2 things.
1 - the disrespect and bad attitude
2 - importantly the media reporting of it all. Even with the ban this should have been an in house issue not a "plastered all over the paper" issue. Together with the apparent selective reporting.

                    Sorry CEO it doesn't wash.

You said, or the club said that it's all about team trust.

Now allegations have been made that 5 other players breached the ban.

These allegations must be investigated thoroughly and the truth established.

No white paint washed over them either!

I believe Anasta was trying to give the players some incentive to win the last few games to climb as far as possible away from the bottom of the ladder.
If they can't take their jobs seriously and don't feel any respect for Easts, I'd rather start breaking in youngsters who want to be Roosters!

By having a ban it could never be kept in house...as breach notices for breaking the club's rules are then issued.

If anyone thinks we Todd fans are gonna put up with this, that he gets booted out while other players who also breached the ban get to not be named and shamed as also having a bad attitude and disrespect and get issued with the same breach notices, they have another thinK coming.

Lie detector tests should be done.

Someone knows...best the 'more players' confess before they're discovered.

Any player who breached the ban anywhere, at all, at any time but doesn't own up now is a 'coward' and a 'liar'.

                                Simple.
