Our problems come down to Friend. We are no chance of winning the comp with him in the side. We can overcome all our other shortcomings throughout the season.

Butcher in for Tetevano for one. Drop Matterson, Taukaiaho to 2nd row. Farmer Silly onto prop rotation. Napa and Jared start.

This is would be so much more exciting.

Not sold on Butcher yet to be honest, watched him again yesterday for Wyong and he seems so ineffective with his hit ups..
For me the excitement is coming from what I read as opposed to what i see!

It’s not flashy, but with limited time on the park he scored a try, got a couple penalties in our favour, made a few offloads and topped the tackle count. Always finds his front as well. Pity the coach rested him just as he was coming into his own - even the commentators made mention of that.

                  He’s a class above.

Fair point. Last time we won a comp, Mini was the captain.

Cords captains NSW and plays for Australia... Friend is not a rep player. Why should Friend be our captain?

                    Friend has thus far:
                    - Had a heap of disciplinary issues as a kid (the cab incident, punching that chick, drugs with Carney...etc)
                    - Undermined our signing of Farah (Pearce didnt get the same option with Cronk)
                    - Undermined Hasting by refusing to pass to him...etc
                    - Been a workhorse tackler, but a crab in attack who doesnt seem interested in identifying this weakness or addressing it
                    - Unable to kick... pretty unforgivable for a modern hooker IMO
                    - Not a great influence off-field. Yaaay end of season... captains first move is to smash a few packs of ciggies at the pub. You serious, this guy is an elite athlete?!? I would just puke if I were a young athlete being preached to about discipline, diet, health...etc and saw that. Id be like mmmkay so how do I get to first grade? Smash some darts, pop pills, sleep in cabs, hit chicks at clubs and have a whinge when the coach says he is gonna sign some competition.

I wasnt impressed with our last two wins..predictably I feel we are still another 4 to 8 weeks of been real contenders .If we really have it.
2 Props short at the moment .Cant carry two light weights every week on the bench despite them been good players .We need big mobile blokes up the effen middle how easy is it for our coach to comprehend?.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

The shortage of big props has been a concern since the Prelim loss against the Cows but wasn’t addressed and now we are stuck in this predicament 4 rounds in..
Why was nothing done to address the issue?
Players like Pasi,Latimore,Tagatese and others were on the market yet we have ignored all options to stick with the same forwards who let us down last year..
Not surprising we are in this mess considering no action to address those issues were taken.

Roosters were awful and Warriors were excellent. Friend could be the worst hooker in the comp at the moment, which is making it tough for his teammates.

Geez mate I must disagree with you here.

Matto and Tetevano were probably our two best against the Warriors ...plus Fergo.

Dont get some of the Matto dislike on here....bends the line, hits hard...more than our other forwards do. Making a good transition from the backs imho.

Has the skills to ball play too...but as Brain said elsewhere needs a decent forwards coach, and or the licence and supports to use it.

Our props are fine when we use them.

Cronk, Keary and Friend decided otherwise on Saturday.

Our props aren't the issue, look a little closer.

You obviously think otherwise and that is fine, but I think you’re wrong!
