I can only imagine that when Mitcell Pearce gave the ultimatum - it's him or me re Brian Smith - to the Roosters that opened the door for Robbo. Pearce heartily endorsed Robbo just as he had Smith three years before. And Robbo has publicly gone to bat for Pearce. But to have father Wayne try and pressure the Roosters over Cronk was not on. Seems like Pearce has always had it his way and when the tables are turned he is reportedly dummy spitting. Loyalty cuts both ways.

Personally I think the Roosters easy attitude with Pearce has had an enabling effect. If they alone would have been privy to his puppy love chances are we - the fans - would know nothing of it. Even Robbo has become the politician. Remember his statement how Latrell was never 'dropped'. So we're to believe that he elected to play for Wyong?

Sorry, I didn't see all of your post before I replied. Pearce may well have whinged to others privately. It would be a very human response to do so. I'm sure other players in similar situations in other clubs have whinged in the past too. You've also got to remember the club only officially announced the signing yesterday.

I thought Keary was busting a gut to help us win a Premiership last season. Sure he had something to prove to Crowe etc... But he was giving 100% which is more than what can be said from a few of our long-term players. He should be one of the first players on the team sheet for 2018 at no. 6. He has earned that right at the very least.

Think they [other teams/coaches] worked Keary out by then...smashed him in a heavy tackle in the PF early in the game, He's very small/slight of build.

Pearce clocked off after the Origin loss. On his (Keary) Prelim Final performance food poisoning is a really good excuse for that probably shouldn't have played as his energy levels would have depleted real fast due to electrolyte imbalance. I must say you really have a thing for Mitchell Pearce.

Without Keary we would be lucky to finish top 4 last year,he was the difference in a lot of tight games..
If Robinson moves him to the bench to please his beloved golden boy,he will ultimately fall on his sword!
As Sterlo said,Cronk and Pearce won’t work together as their games are similar,whereas Keary is a running 5/8th and will suit Cronks game to a tee..

Yes he didn't have a good Prelim Final. But he was world class in wk 1 vs the Broncos and our best player by a mile. He was consistent throughout the whole season.

In contrast as Artie said, Pearce went missing after Origin III and yet you're giving him a free pass.

As for Lachlan Lam, there's an 80% chance he never even plays FG but you want to place all your eggs in that basket over thr bloke who will be NSW 5/8 next year if he keeps the no.6 at the Roosters.

People place way too much faith in young talent. 90% of them never make it. Those are just the facts. There are very very few "can't miss" kids that come through who you know will make the next step; especially in the halves.

It's boring if we always agree on everything Brawl. And I've always found your 'nonsense' to be in good fun and to add interest to this place. I've always been a firm believer that the forum should be a good balance between serious footy talk and fun / good humour.

If what is being proposed is true then Keary wont be at the club in 2018.
And why should he play super sub when he is an excellent 5/8.
IMO the Cronk-Pearce combo is a backward step.
