  • WILL CHAMBERS

Obviously talk in a couple of other threads. Thought best discussed in separate thread.

According to Matty Johns this morning, talk around Foxsports yesterday was that this is a done deal.

How could any knock wanting this guy. Great attacking centre as well as strong in defence. Something we have lacked since Jennings left.

They also said we will probably get Gagai. Not sure where Latrell would fit into the mix if we get them both. Not to mention Manu now that we have re-signed Toups.

We definitely need to improve our speed in the backline as well as defence. Arguably one of the weakest in both categories in the NRL.

How amazining would a 1-7 like this look?

    Tedesco
    Latrell
    Gagai
    Chambers
    Toups
    Keary
    Pearce

Matty Johns has a worse strike rate than the Lurker.

I would take either of these centres. Can't see us getting both due to the cap.

I just hope we have some money left for an aggressive powerful forward and a toiler no frills prop.

Haha, we will get the two most wanted centers in the market as well as Tedesco, and people think Brisbane have an endless salary cap.

        Tell em they're dreaming.

Backline looks amazing. But backs will struggle without forwards who lay the platform. We already look light on in this department. Gagai and chambers seems like overkill to me.

Salary cap increase. Releasing Evans, potentially fergo, skd, Guerra and POSSIBLY latrell if the bullshit here is true. If so, then not unrealistic. Manu bottom dollar. Toops bottom dollar. Guess the club is banking on butcher to be a star in the not to distant future. Knight and Collins still a way off imo.

but the cap goes up for everyone, so as a result, it doesn't really allow for some clubs to get significantly stronger. Everyone is in the same boat. It is like getting a 20% payrise but if inflation also increases 20%, you cannot buy more.

Agree with this, but i think it will just be the toiler, with collins or knight to make the jump.

                    Simple logic rules this out.

He would not be cheap, and we don't really need him.

Sort of. But I think next year most clubs will have a million dollar player. Whereas before there might have only been 2-3 in the nrl on that money. The cap has risen but it hasn't been dispersed evenly amongst the top 25.

I remember the Lurker once getting one right, can't say the same for Johns.

Particularly if you're a centre as they aren't earning the coin of spine players.

I think for the first year it'll work because players will see more coin and jump at it. Then after that they'll catch on, and by that time it'll go up again.

The main thing it will do is stop players going to rival codes for more dosh.

Yeah I understand, just funny when people think we are the only club players play for bottom dollar, but when broncos players stay for bottom dollar it's a scam.

It's the way it should be though, legally or not, broncos, roosters should always have a strong team to represent their states. We play for premierships.
