I thought Fergo was going to be better at wing until I saw him pass the ball to a 18yr old rookie fullback to take the ball up when we were smashed by Melbourne last season. Fergo goes walkabout in the centres and into dream time on the wing.Fergo falls into my category of one of many overpaid underperforming signings by the club. A complete user.

I remember that as well and was also at that game - I blew up deluxe at Ferguson at the time, because he set up young Latrell to get smashed in order to save himself a little hard work. Just not acceptable from a senior player to be dumping a rookie in it as he did. Not for the first time since he's been at the Chooks either - if he can avoid the hard work he will.

Geez interesting perspective Steakface. I reckon Gordon is done. He is busted. The guy can't kick and can barely run. Yes he has been reliable at the back but I think he is on borrowed time. If he is no longer a gun goalkicker I don't see the point of him being in the team.

I think he is definitely injured and shouldn't be playing right now. However, I really think he has another year or two of first grade quality left in him. Won't be a world beater, but professional Nd dependable.

What's happening with the salary cap? We could well be over if we aren't careful. As I understand it, they NRL has low balled the offer and not many are expecting much of an increase.

In that regard maybe Widdop would be a good option? Ticks quite a few boxes, will be a bit cheaper than most others, and has played a fair bit of fullback. $1.2m is crazy money.
