Depends. Sandow definitely isn't on the rise. Hastings is. Carney certainly isn't dregs. Imo they either grab Hastings for 3 years and start to build a team or they buy Carney for one and pray for something better next year.

Probabbly get bagged for it...but here it goes, I thought he did a good job playing next to Jimmy in 2015 ( whilst Pearce was injured ). That was the problem in 2016 he was just way too raw of a player to steer the ship due to Pearces pre season antics and he and Nikorima paid the price for it. They shouldn't of been expected to carry the load Jimmy and Pearce did, two rookies v the experience of NSW origin players.
No Jared, Pearce out, Maloney let go and Jennings gone it was always going to be a bad year.

Not only that, but they played behind a forward that was getting bashed without jwh and cordner and Guerra dogging it. Then Watson strolls in with a full strength team and looks the goods. I feel nikorima has been hardest done by. And I think Hastings is a very solid player and still very young.

And that's no disrespect to Watson. But circumstances seem to make or break careers. Perhaps if Watson played at the start of the year he'd be on the scrap heap and if nikorima came into a stronger side he'd be the one with a contract extension or at least higher probability of first grade time in 2017.
