    It's no Wayne Bennett situation.

On that, isn't it fun to see all the journos finally turn on Bennett.
Agree 100% on the roger bashing. He was a young kid who did a great job and won a comp with us. He certainly gave me my memberships worth. I'll always have fond memories. We talk about trying to lure players of teddy's calibre to our club.. But we already had one and we messed it up.

      Love both of these posts.
The amount of enjoyment I got from watching Rog play was unbelievable. More so seeing my 10yo daughter absolutely adore the chooks pretty much due to RTS was the best. Would take him back in a heartbeat

And weve got one now. Our priority needs to be keeping Lattrell long term.

I want him at fullback too, will play with limitations in the centres.

When youve got it, flaunt it.

Fair point, my only concern for Mitchell is his body shape, I think he needs to drop a little weight around the middle to play fullback, also his build will put heaps of pressure on his knees. Playing Centre would involve covering less ground but still would utilize his explosiveness. Given the club seems to be interested in Tedesco, it is possible he may not stay at Fullback in any case. I would be happy having either Teddy or RTS at Fullback with Mitchell in the Centres if that was to eventuate. I also think RTS could in the long term develop into a very good 5/8.

Rog was a god, hopefully he stays a god when he comes back from his injury.

If he did want to leave the Warriors though I would 100% be for getting him back.

True. Really keen to watch latrell develop. Who knows, he could be better than rog and teddy.

I'll summarise my opinions on this post + a few leading up to it.

                1. I think the dead honest truth is that we couldn't afford to keep Roger, Maloney and Jenko. We were bust having had to upgrade guys like Cords. With Latrell, Fergo and Hastings (without the benefit of hindsight) on our books our focus was on building for the future rather than finishing top 8 in 2016. While we probably didn't think we'd do as badly, 2016 was sorta a 'recession that we had to have'.
                2. We're not trying to lure Tedesco over!!! He's gonna be a 1-club Tigers superstar. The Tigers haven't had a lot of luck in recent years and they will do ANYTHING to keep their Teddy.
                3. Mitchell is the future. Rightly or wrongly IMO we have said 'Latrell is a better all-round athlete'. We'll see how RTS goes after a serious leg injury! It's the problem with zippy little guys... they lose speed as they get older. Whereas, Latrell's a lanky boy from the bush! As he gets older he's gonna bulk up, lose that puppy fat belly and get a LOT fitter.
                4. RTS will NEVER be able to palm people off him like Latrell and Fergo do. We have two big, strong indigenous boys who are going to run a riot because they are IMPOSSIBLE to tackle. RTS will never have the same amount of size and raw strength...
                5. Dunno why people are saying Latrell's too heavy for his knees? He's lanky and if anything those knees will get stronger as he bulks up I reckon.

GI became too bulky for his knees and Fergo has always had ankle problems. Latrell injured his knees a few times this season, the Coq has a point.

Can't agree with this at all.
Roger bashing is a Roosters fans god given right.

The club certainly messed up with the Maloney situation, but as far as rts is concerned , 90% of fault lies with him and his prick of a manager.

Well you saying roger leaving was 90% him and his manager has no credibility. Unless you know him personally.

And he could bomb out. Those other two are a much safer bet.

We fell asleep at the wheel and that opened up the chance for his manager to take him there. Our fault. We had ages to sign him for much less than he got before Tomkins worked out he was an overrated hack and wanted to go back to SL. The manager wanted him there but we allowed the situation to happen.

Depends what you consider safe. What happens if we were to sign teddy to a a million dollar contract today and latrell absolutely brains it this year? Then we've just developed a player who we will either lose or waste out wide. Both roger and teddy have had season ending injuries now and there's been question marks over teddy his whole career due to how many games he's missed. I know what you're saying though.

I originally liked the idea of Gordon. The more I think about latrell spending a year out wide the more I disagree with it. I think we need a really good look at him at fullback this year with a full season and pre season under his belt to see his fitness and defensive capacity. Could go a long way to determining whether it's worth a massive go at a fullback. If you **** that decision up it could ruin the cap and squad balance.
