I originally liked the idea of Gordon. The more I think about latrell spending a year out wide the more I disagree with it. I think we need a really good look at him at fullback this year with a full season and pre season under his belt to see his fitness and defensive capacity. Could go a long way to determining whether it's worth a massive go at a fullback. If you **** that decision up it could ruin the cap and squad balance.
If we are to sign Teddy for 2018 it will be done well before we get a good look at Latrell this season. And it could cost us Latrell too. Nothing I have heard indicates he wants to be anything but a fullback.

I worry about Latrell's complete commitment to being a professional rugby league player, which is totally understandable given his age, hopefully as he matures he realises you just can't rely on natural talent and you have to be 100% committed to training/diet etc.

Perhaps we will see latrell take on more of the workload at fullback next year. I hope so as I don't like fb's like Dugan and inglis who don't get near the miles like mini and Roger did. I guess Dugan does but he cries after every tackle

My concern with Latrell is also with the mental side of the game.

He tends to drift in and out of the game and displayed Duganesque qualities with all the limping at times.

Im aware that hes only 18. But so was Tom Turbo who looked a lot more switched on mentally and is miles ahesd in development.

Latrell could very well develop into a once in a generation star. But if he doesn't I reckon it'll be because of flaws in his mental game - determination, hunger, preparation, concentration etc.

Tom will always be better than Latrell I reckon. Tom will play on the wing for the Blues next year but will eventually over the next 3 years push Tedesco out of FB & will then be FB for the Blues & Australia. I would be very surprised if Latrell reaches those heights but if Tom wasnt around then I think Latrell would reach those heights.

Tom T lost me with his rubbing of Latrell's head after he made a mistake. Typical Manly grub. Can't stand him.

Hodges came to the Roosters to play fullback. He was moved to centre and ended up having a brilliant career as a centre. Could see similar for Latrell, he has all the attributes to make an exceptional centre.

I'm prepared to let that slide because both he and his brother do a lot of great things with the kids in junior footy.

Totally agree. I was so disappointed that a young bloke would insult another young bloke in that manner, just because his senior team mates were doing it. You'd think he'd have a little understanding of what Latrell was feeling, but no, he just followed the lead of that two-faced Lyon, who couldn't wait to get in Latrell's face.

Indigenous players are always hit and miss when it comes to mental strength and physical commitment to the training demands, no matter how talented there are. Only Latrell knows how far he is prepared to push himself., mentally and physically. I'm hoping he will be more Rod Silva than Andrew Walker ...

From memory, TT has had his fair share of injuries in his short career already. As for Tedesco, pay him big money at your peril, given his injury history. I'd prefer to take a punt on Latrell than Tedesco.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

I thought Lyon was the bigger C that game.

                              100%

                              No question about it.

                              But that doesn't excuse it.

Lyon was a C for the majority of his career. Always whinging, bitching, niggling & milking.
